Yeah, video has been removed by the user. Going to their official channel only shows older videos.

See it here: http://www.euclideon.com/videos/ud-john-gatt/

Seems pretty impressive and legit. Real time demo @ 24:00 where John Gatt (the interviewer) actually moves around with a controller.

That video is ancient. Don't know if OP's video is different since it's gone now.

Posted in 2011. They have been HEAVILY criticized because they have provided essentially nothing to any developers that have contacted them. I haven't looked at this for over a year but last I remember they were just a scam company without a legitimate product, maybe even no product at all, looking for people invest money into them. Also they talk about what Notch posted, also from 2011, and try to discredit him (http://notch.tumblr.com/post/8386977075/its-a-scam) but what he points out is actually very true.

tl;dr load of crap and old as hell.

It probably isn't, as like I said, the video was removed. Also, you can see the title of it with "2013" in it.

If you watched the video with the interview the post above you, he said they are still working on alot of things, so calling it anything but a Work In Progress is moot. Sure, their goal is one unbelievable to many, and I'm not saying they actually have done it. I'm just saying they have not finished yet, especially as said in their 2011 video. Children taking cookies from the oven before they are done.

Sure wish I could have seen their newest video here though.

Yeah I'd like to see their newest video to see if they are any more credible than before but back in 2011 I wouldn't call it a work in progress as they were claiming that it could already work and that it was real time rendering and such, when it wasn't, and they had no actual product to show potential investors/developers. They may have progressed since then but without the video it's hard to say. Though with it being removed I'm going to believe it's because they got a lot of flak on it and took it down. Until they open with something live at E3 or have a developer using their 'product' I'm not holding my breath on the work in progress coming to an end product ever.

It was a lot more credible imo.

Basically it moved away from a 'game engine' (i.e. no animation), and focused on presenting millions of points in realtime for the geoscaping sector, as well as making those large databases of points easily accessible over networks.

Happen to have a secondary link? biggrin.gif
That sounds a bit more plausible, but sounds like it is again going back to just being a voxel engine, which is not impressive at all. Guess I'll wait around to see if it gets reupped somewhere to take a look as I am intrigued.

I did see the video before it went down. I will admit it was highly impressive and showed Full Color CityScapes where the operator of the "Camera" flew down streets and above the cityscape. It half reminded you of GTA IV with ENB lighting in some moments. There were some obvious jaggies close to some trees etc but again the full color and depth of the detail blew me away.

Of course they are focusing on Geoscaping now for the corporate sector which is fine. Their large data sets are obviously way outside the norm for any usefull inclusion in any gaming environment at the moment. Note: I said outside the norm, not impossible. I think they will be fine in the Corporate sector.

Their tools look to be refined for importing normal 3d Object file types from LIDAR Raw data to .OBJ, .3DS etc... and converting all this into their proprietary Euclideon format which can then be accessed subsecond, per their advertisements, from any hard drive, USB stick , or Wifi.

Again I hope the technology of Point Cloud rendering gets a mainstream boost one day, but today Vertices, and Triangle rendering rule the day, For us.
