£58 cheapest price on http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-memory-mv3v4g3dus

But your right prices have gone up, I only paid about £40 when it came out. RAM prices have been going up recently.

You could just remove the ram heatsinks

Agree with Bruennis, it won't cost you a thing and it won't really change anything smile.gif
Did that on a build for a client due to the cooler he chose.

I just did my first delidding of my 3770k primarily using my laminated work badge! I started just the corner with a razor blade (now I'm not sure it was necessary). Then I used only the card, slid through surprising easy. I just kept the card under the edge and slowly made my way around. Took maybe 3 or 4 minutes while being nervous going purposely very slow. The chip came out perfect, cleaning took a bit, then replaced TIM with clu...piece of cake, won't be a tiny bit nervous the next time! The card is equivilant to a laminated business card, go to kinkos and make one for .50 cents
