What should I upgrade?

Thread Starter
Looking to upgrade my sig rig that is primarily used for gaming. I am not too sure where to go with it.

I have been considering the 7850, but I am unsure if my processor will bottleneck it.

Sub-$200. Any suggestions?

Your CPU is probably bottlenecking your 7770 already. I advise a jump to AM3+ and Vishera! This floats around $200 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/U6de.

Agreed, or at least a Phenom X4 or X6 overclocked.
Try this.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/5lJO
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1045T 2.7GHz 6-Core Processor ($113.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($87.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $201.97

It is over your sub-$200 budget, but it will be an upgrade you can stick with for a while, as AMD continues to use its never-dying socket AM3+. Its either this or switch this Phenom X6 for an X4 965 or 955 Black edition.

If your looking at upgrading your GPU, what PSU do you have?

That could very easily make your mind up for ya.

Also found THIS DEAL slightly over, but worth the extra $$ IMO

Found out that my motherboard was an AM3+ revision. Got a fx-8120, thanks for all the input guys!

Im so sorry you bought that. I believe the 6300 is faster and cheaper. Hell for less then $5, the 8320 was attainable and a much much better processor.

AMD FX-8120 3.1GHz 8 125W
$159.98

AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8 125W
$162.98

Granted how much did you pay for your 8120?
