6970 on 430w psu. Only thing on psu

Thread Starter
Im getting a 6970 and a antec 430w green. I currently bitcoin mine and on one of my machines. Currently it is running 3 cards and im going to add this card. If i run dual psus and the 430 is just powering the 6970 is that enough?

I know it sounds dumb but im strapped for cash and im pretty sure it should work as max draw is like 200w let me know please

Sort of.

Wattage-wise it's fine, but you will probably need to be careful with balancing load levels. Due to the design you can't just pull from the 12v rail only, otherwise you end up with huge fluctuations with voltages and such. If you also put a few HDD's and such to add load to the 5v rail it should be ok, but I can't say for sure.

6970 TDP is 250 watts at full load, you shouldn't have any problems.
