Need help setting up SpeedFan for very confuzzled user.

Thread Starter
I just downloaded Speedfan(V4.49) and the configuring aspect looks very daunting
I have read a few guides but I still am quite confused

I really need anyone with any experience in this area to guide me through the configuring process to optimise my fan speeds.
I would like to have a nice quiet rig at idle and don't mind having them at 100% during long gaming sessions as I wear headphones.

I Have one Enermax ets-t40 cpu cooler, cooling my i5 3570k
A front 200mm fan which runs at around 730rpm on full
A top Sharkoon Silent Eagle running at around 930rpm
And finally a back fan at 1155rpm

Any help setting this up would be very much appreciated!

You have a better chance of getting help if you tell what motherboard you are using.

Sorry. I forgot that.
I have an Asrock z77 extreme6

At least the fan header layout looks similar to one on my Z68 Extreme3Gen3 so functionality might also be similar, with that I'm able to control 4-pin fans on cpu fan 1 header and 3-pin fans on cpu fan 2 header. Those 2 headers are controlled together by PWM2. PWM1 controls 4-pin fans on chassis fan header 1 and PWM3 controls 3-pin fans on chassis fan 3 header. Chassis fan header 2 can not be controlled by Speedfan.

I have heard some people saying that I should just use my motherboards automatic fan settings instead of speedfan as it is a third party app and may have bugs, but it looks a lot more detailed and comprehensive than what my motherboard does

What would be your suggestion?

I prefer Speedfan and haven't really had any problems with it, it just takes a bit of learning to know how to configure it properly.

This may sound like a stupid question but I'm relatively new to windows 7.
I want to add a speedfan shortcut to my startup folder so it always loads up when I turn on my pc.
Where do I find this folder?
You will find that in Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder but you can't start it that way unless you have UAC disabled

And how would I go about doing that?
I haven't tried this but it might work : http://www.coretechnologies.com/products/AlwaysUp/Apps/RunSpeedFanAsAService.html, other way is to use Task Scheduler
