The same would go for anyone who wanted remote access to their own network via SSH or OpenVPN, since those are also servers. Should they be forced to pay for a business connection too?

Most I ever did was about 2 1/2 TB in a month and Time Warner couldn't contact me fast enough a few years ago......I think I received like 3 letters and a couple of calls. If this was done today I think they would red flag anyone over 300GB though.

Google Fiber has a similar clause....although I believe their's states it as servers for business use, or something along those lines.

If you are running a business off of your connection, you should have a business line. Period.

The fact that he had a business connection and then dropped to residential shows that he knows what he was doing.

Why is he being denied his internet? If he had legitimate, personal reasons for using 77TB a month, he's not in violation of any TOS and I don't see any cap/throttling issues... so what is everyone *****ing about? He's asked to change over to a business plan, not being cut off service.

I really don't think the writer nor the readers are actually understanding what is going on...

Businesses are not flexible when it comes to certain services, and they are priced as such.

Article states that he is violating TOS because you're not allowed to run a server under the residential plan.

77TB. That's nuts. lol
