What are you talking about, also, HDs have breathing holes, so if the factory did install blue smoke it would be released rather quickly, probably before you got a hold of it!

Dude, I overclocked my monitor! I poured some octane booster in the vents at the top and now it twice as bright yo!

i've seen it tried to give the HDD more voltage and the HDD disks flew out of the case and hit the MB lol it was somewhere on google video if i find it i'll post. one time i tried hooking up an old floppy drive with the power cord on upside down so the 5v and the 3v were switched to see what would happen and it went up in smoke... funny

What you do is you cut the wires, and take a wall plug, and cut it, and connect the red to one wire, and the black to the third on the bottom, and you drill a hole in the case, and plug it in. also you can make it much faster if you unscrew the top and use a vaccum cleaner on the platters, and if you want, you can cut a hole in the top (not the side with the circut boards in it) and put an 80 mil fan there, it runs better cooler. Also if you sodder the SATA cable onto some of your CPU pins instead of the plug, its a lot faster cause it a direct connect.

One last fun thing, is if you cut they key pin off your CPU that makes it only fit one way, and you reverse it, it doubles the FSB speed.

Why would you even want to overclock anything you store all your precious data on? seems like a very bad idea to me
