How the hell is that natural? AN-94? Oh is that some joke on how the AK-47 handles? The recoil is wrong, the kick is wrong, and you say this is a good game? Yeah, games like CS are a bit off. Because they pair the AK with the M16, they have to balance stats. If everybody had a chance at weapons, the ANXX would suck balls compared to any MXX weapon.

You call this natural? Natural!? What is natural about neutered recoil and spread? it's like playing a child's game. Te only game I cared to cheat on? MWX, nothing else was worth it. It's the lowest of games played, in competition or anywhere else. Granted it might have a lot of players, that doesn't mean they know squat about how guns should handle.

How does a .50 handgun handle? Hell, how does a R700 sniper rifle not kill on single shots? How!? Or how about the berret .50 caliber not kill on one shot in standard death match? Are you serious!?!?!?!

Do you realize that a .50 caliber weapon not only takes off a limb,it can split a body in two? No, that isn't just sad it is wrong. Screw COD, it defiles the idea of even death match. No matter what you say, I can bring in balance ideas that make your head spin.

I forgot that in Battlefield you get instant kills with sniper rifles, totally forgot sorry.

He probably meant that it feels intuitive to play. Controls that you sit down and play around with and say "Yes, this feels right," not guns that are perfectly matched to their real life equivalents. That's how I interpreted the post anyway, the user can feel free to clarify.

In a way yes. The recent BO gave instant kill sniper rifles, something I thought was over due a LONG time ago. Other than that, yes it's all about casual play. It doesn't have to be real, it has to be even. None of the guns are balanceed. I can play on the console equally with the AN-94 or the new SMG (whatever the crap it is). That's pretty silly, considering both guns should have a completely different game play.

I'm a PC gamer at heart, so to say both guns play pretty even.... Do I have to say more? If you don't believe me, CS: GO or more to the point: 1i873k_ninja, find me and play, that's the only way for sure.

You lost all credibility when you said .50 can split a body in two lmao

Are you serious? Do you know what the Baret .50 cal is made for? It's an anti-tank round. We aren't talking about personal rounds, we are talking about solid blocks of steel. If you do not understand the repercussion of that round, you are not very adept in ammunition.

You ever see the movie sniper? A .50 caliber sniper rifle tears apart a person. it's made for anti-tank, what the heck do you think it does to human flesh?

Regardless, your opinion is pretty much crap. And I do mean crap. This is a .50 round sniper file, do you know what a remington 700 does? No, I doubt it. What is the range of a 30/6? Around 600 yards, and it's very devastation on a human target. A 50 is insanity, you sir are a disgrace to real life ammunition.

[edit] A 30/6 is really about 800 yards, a .50 cal sniper rifle..... I swear, if you were in the army I'd shoot you.

[edit 2] Any questions?

And back on topic... Who really cares? It's not like COD players play it for the graphics.

So the engine is older than most COD players? biggrin.gif

Also it's entirely possible to make a new engine (or an insane upgrade) in 2 years; Cryengine 2 (Crysis) came out November 13th, 2007. The first version of Cryengine 3 was October 14th, 2009. That's 1 year, 11 months and 1 day, and we got:
DX11 (new render path)
Tesselation
Massively increased performance (1 million polies in CE2 caused epicly low FPS, CE3 it's no issue)
Irradiance
Real-Time GI (was baked in CE2)
Light volume (physical based sun-shafts rather than screen-based in CE2)
Massively improved particles (shadows, moblur, etc.)
Screen-space reflections (technically a cheat, but still)
Pixel-accurate POM (improved over screen-based in CE2)
SSDO (up from SSAO)
Deferred render (rather than forward rendering)
etc.

Meanwhile IW, with its near infinite money from CODXYZ can't managed to finally go to a new engine, and has to stick to one from 1999 because "its too hard" to make a new one.... Haaaaaa

What is PROBABLY is, is that they think the upgrade to 1080p will mean enough of a change that the CoD fans will be pleased. Why invest the extra money in actually making a new engine, when you could just increase profit margins by using what works.

In their defence, building a new engine AND developing a new game at the SAME time in a 2-year period is almost impossible. And comparing them to Crytek isn't an apple-to-apple comparison because Crytek make money out of engine licensing. So they have a DEDICATED team/department who's sole purpose is to develop and support Cryengine. Their games development team is a totally different department and as such, you can't really compare them to a team who would be developing an IN-HOUSE engine and game simultaneously. It just isn't possible.

In saying that though, why don't they just get off the 2-year cycle and along with Treyarch, cross-develop a "next-gen engine" that they can implement for another 5-7 years?

They make billions from COD, more than enough to have a hire team working on a new engine in parallel whilst the usual developers rehash the same old crap into what is essentially a map pack passed off as a brand new game wink.gif

It smacks a bit of laziness or just being tight, they have all the resources in the world to develop anything they want. What they actually do is release the same old poop year on year from MW onwards
