What are the best AM3+ motherboards?

Thread Starter
Getting an 8350, doing a build for my wife. Are there some manufacturers who are preferred over others with AMD cpus?
I run an Asus M5A99X Evo, no complaints.

I would say a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 or a UD5. Both would be very nice motherboards for a build.

The FX8350 is too strong for the cheap boards like the GA-990FXA-UD3. You might want to read this thread. The UD5 seems to be ok.
http://www.overclock.net/t/1023100/official-gigabyte-ga-990fxa-series-owners-thread-club/4540

The better Asus and Asrock boards are popular. Right now I would rather have an MSI 990FXA-GD80 V2 board than this UD3 I'm stuck with.

The Sabertooth 990fx serves me pretty well.
Asus m5a97-evo was pretty good too, not sure how it fares with the 8 cores though. It was doing very well with my 1090T mind you thumb.gif

And as the others have said M5A99X Evo and Gigabyte's UD5 are solid boards too

Anus Sabertooth and Crosshair V .
There is NOTHING else better to use with octo cores on the market ,unfortunately.
This ones just work .
MSI and Gigabyte are not able to release similar boards as we speak ,maybe they don t care.

I don't know, man. Those sound like pretty crappy boards to me. (I'm sorry, that was just too easy)

In all seriousness, my ASUS Sabertooth Gen3 plays very nicely with my 8350. I'd strongly recommend it. For other options, you can probably get away with just sorting by price from high to low on Newegg and picking one of the top ten. Price isn't the only factor that matters here, but do look at the big picture: you have an ultra high-end CPU. To truly put it to good use, you'll need an ultra high-end motherboard.

Asus M5A97 is one of the better AM3+ boards and it's quite cheap too...about £70 (GBP)
