Is the Razer Taipan any good?

It's so hard to find the "perfect" mouse (comfortable, good sensor, good build quality)...

Having experience with both, I would say that the new Deathadder has a higher build quality. The materials they have used feel of higher quality too.

A mouse is pure preference. I import thousands of tons juice/grapes for making wine, and its kind of like the same thing. I get asked all the time "what is your favorite?! What would you suggest?". It is hard to answer because we all have different tastes. I could love one thing, you could hate the other. Your best bet is to go with a suggestion from a poster here and make sure you can return that suggested mouse if it doesn't work out for you. I know it's a pain, but to get what you want it would be worth it.
Unfortunately, with wine juices/grapes you can't return them if you don't like it in the end :-)

Yeah you are right smile.gif

Since there are not many other suggestions I'm probably getting the DA, just to be safe.

Most probably I am getting the Taipan, making my excuses to not get the G9X (currently a G9 user).
And you are so right, it's really so hard to find the 'perfect' mice, it's almost impossible actually. For last three days I have been reading and reading but that ultimately made be even more confused and in middle of nowhere! So I gave up, and made my mind that I will ultimately buy what I like, comfort wise, size wise and the most important factor build quality wise. Currently I am toggling between G9X and Taipan, but the Taipan has some looks, and it's a nice size for my hand too, and a good sensor, little steep price, lets see.
IMO, if one is confused and not a freak person who changes mice every month, he/she should get the one which has longer warranty, for example: three years of Logitech, Two years of Corsair etc, but not those which has shorter warranty, which unfortunately is most brands out there, Roccat, SS, and even Razer. Damn Razer that's the only thing I don't like about them! (maybe there are other things but I don't know as I haven't used a mice from them, just the cheap Sphex, which is decent mat for the small money).

Saurav.

There are lots of mixed reviews on the net.
I got one a few weeks ago, but stopped using it because of the smoothing and accleration the Avago 9800 series has going on, which were both very noticable while playing Quake. The precision is excellent, so is the build quality and grip. Really solid mouse that feels very comfortable, I just couldn't get used to the tracking. I prefer optical.

Yep indeed there are lots of mixed reviews on the net, that's normal, everyone says his/her opinion, and if you get a match of your liking/standard you are lucky and will have the right product, otherwise opposite, and then comments like 'this is a crap mice' and all.
Btw, thanks for your comment on the acceleration and smoothing part. Could you tell me what the problem exactly is or will I feel that problem too (I play FPS games mostly, besides I am buying this gaming grade mice for it's known preciseness for using in PS or LR, rather than gaming, but when I play long and I play hard)? I am currently a G9 user, which is considered as a bad/flawed sensor mice on the reviews and elsewhere and yet it's the best one I have used so far and I never seen any kind of acceleration, or felt. I mostly use 1200/1400 DPI with H/W acceleration on. I think it runs on Avago ADNS-6090 sensor.
Thanks in advance.

It has come down to DA 2013 and G400. After watching some video reviews I think that the G400 will be more comfortable for my hand but I think I'm getting the DA 2013 just to be safe, plus I don't really like the looks of the G400. The Func MS-3 looks interesting too, but it is a risky choice imo, never heard of that company before.
