Need ideas on $150 upgrade - looks and noise

Want to kinda pimp up my baby over the summer. Willing to spend around $150 to $200 USD on it. I can buy stuff on stores or online.

Right now, the front is dusty, haven't really used it since last year. But since I'm home now and away from school I want to put this baby back up and running.

I was thinking about a nice black interior case and something to cool the CPU, what you guys think? Not too interested in SSDs yet, just looking for better looks and to decrease the noise.

Have you considered trying your hand at spray painting the interior of the case? I did this on my Antec 900 when I replaced the case and it turned out better than expected and I ended up re-using the case in another build.

I don't know about you, but it was probably the most rewarding thing I've done with computer building, and it only cost me like $20 of supplies and materials. Obviously it took me quite a bit of time,. but it was enjoyable time well spent.

If it doesn't turn up well - it still would probably be a fun experience, and you could always just get another case anyway.

Noise-wise, you could probably get a aftermarket CPU cooler to get rid of that loud stock cooler. perhaps an Hyper 212 evo?

Well I've always wanted to do something like this but I don't think I have the time or space to do it. I live in an apartment with no backyard or anything, really can't imagine working on a case here.

I will definitely go for something like the Hyper 212 though.

I think I'll go with a nice black interior case with a clear window side panel and some fans with LED lights.
