Some help with this mouse?

I got a Razer Taipan a few months ago (Yes I know Razer sucks), and on getting a new computer it has started to freeze every few seconds of use. With or without synapse. I've reinstalled the drivers, but it doesn't seem to like my computer. I think it may just be either Windows 8 or USB 3.0, but I can't be certain. Is there a way to fix it? I don't really want to go after a new mouse when this one has worked perfectly fine up until now. Any help would be appreciated.

Try using a different port. On a lot of the newer boards the top most ports are "optimized" for keyboard and mouse. I think the only difference is that those ports get powered quicker, though I've never actually tested it.

I was a bit sceptical about whether or not that would work, but it appears to have done the job. Thanks!
