Have to decide, keep 580x2 or go single 780

Hi, I am trying to decide which way to go, I have 2 580 sli, but I am getting a express sli 3.0 MB in about 2 weeks, with either haswell or 2011. I am build a gaming rig, So should I get the 780 and replace the 2 580s, then at some point down the road say 3 to 5 months later get the second 780 or just wait and just use my 580s? I play on a 1920*1200 monitor.

More or less the same perf, maybe the 780 is around 5% faster overall but the power draw and temps are much lower with a single card solution.. If you have the money to burn why not? I would unless your temps are fine and you are able to max out your games with your current setup.

yeah, i would get a 780 now and if you want sell off your 580's while they can still fetch a bit off money. as you said you can always get another 780 down the track.

I would recommend going with a single GTX780. Then some point later get a second and go sli.

Since you have the 580's and water blocks to sell, I'd go for it. You may even come out ahead. thumb.gif
