Need Assitance Overclocking Sapphire 7950 Boost

Hi,

I made a post here awhile back about how I was having some difficulty overclocking my Sapphire HD7950 boost . I thought I had solved it until I restarted my computer for the first time after overclocking. I was unable to get to the login screen (running windows 8) because immediately after the splash, the screen would just flash between black and dark purple until I restarted. I ended up having to system restore to get back into windows. This occurred each time I tried overclocking, so I don't know if windows just coincidentally broke during each attempt, or perhaps because I enabled the option to apply overclock on startup in afterburner. I stopped until now, due to needing a functional machine, and also because I am clueless.

Anyway, to the point of this post - I need help overclocking my card. I would really like to get the performance out of it that I know it can offer, but am somewhat overwhelmed by the amount of conflicting information I am finding on overclocking "boost" cards, which have a reputation for being troublesome. The only consistent pointer seemed to be that overdrive needs to be completely disabled and that TriXX must be used to overclock. Can anyone offer some insight to this situation?

Just use Overdrive in Catalyst. You'll be able to overclock up to 1100/1500mhz which is good if you're not comfortable with voltage tweaking etc.
