i3 2100 bottlenecking in Crysis 3 - Page 3

Thread Starter
Okay, updated the BIOS and tried the CCC settings, and it did make it slightly better biggrin.gif
But I played some Crysis with Afterburner running, and the GPU usage went anywhere from 90 to 45, so I suppose the card is being held back, a lotdoh.gif

yes you are correct your card is being bottlenecked by your cpu. especialy games like crisis will demand 4 core power. more GHz the better.

that said, any 4 core anything will give you a dramatic improvement and likely feed your card almost unbottlenecked.

if crisis 3 or whatever u said is able to use hyperthreading, this may or may not also offer substantial improvement.

if u got your mitts on anything 2500 or better, any newer sb/ivy/haswell 4 core.

sum1 can tell you exactly what your 7950 needs to be effectively fed, im not that person.
