Is this a fair trade? GTX 660 Ti Power Edtion to Sapphire 7950 Boost

I've been looking to trade my GTX 660 Ti Power Edition off and a guy offered up his Sapphire 7950 Boost (with the Dual-X cooler), would you do the trade?

The main reason I want a 7950/70 is because I'll be buying a 1080P screen soon and I kinda want the extra 1GB of VRAM and the awsome overclocking potential, with that in mind, would you do the trade?

My 660 Ti is 1 week old and his 7950 is 3 months old.

Any day of the week thumb.gif Although you won't see any groundbreaking differences at 1080p , the 7950 is still faster than the 660ti!

Yeah the thing is I want this to last for at least 2 years playing at 1080P so I'd like to make the best investment I can at my budget.

Any other opinions?

I'd say unless you plan on going CrossFire, and are hypersensitive to the microstutter craze, I see no reason why not. As long as you are getting a working card, of course. And if it still was under a little warranty, that would be good too.

I would do it as you are getting the better end of the trade and the extra gig of vram really helps @ 1080p.

well considering this has a budget impact of zero... and the 7950 is a bit faster than the 660Ti, how can you go wrong?? the sapphire dual-x is a great cooler.

being able to play 1080p for the next 2 years should be fine, but really depends on the games that come out and the engines that drive them. in any case, for no cost, the 7950 performs better than the 660Ti. trade!

I vote to go for the trade. I have the Sapphire 7950 Dual X and I'm loving this card. I just want to ask though, what is the reason why he wanted to trade his 7950 for your 660ti?

most likely he play games that run better on nvidia, cs:go for me was stuttering with my 7970. Had like 20 fps in loading screen and they never fixed the issue even though hundred complained about it. Beside that i never had issue with amd and that is like 3 to 4 years of different cards.

My guess is that this Sapphire 7950 wont OC at all and he's thinking that he can get better performance for MSI GTX660Ti because of the high overclocking potential.

edit1:
I wouldn't do the trade if there is no proof how much this 7950 can be overclocked.

edit2:

+ in the future SLI GTX660Ti it's much more attractive choice than 7950 crossfire.
