[inquisitr] Xbox One May Have Sold Wii U Better Than Nintendo. - Page 2

I don't know if I'll get a console this generation, but I've always been a PlayStation fan, and it won't change this time either.

Actually, they stated quite clearly you will need to be online depending on what you're doing. All they had to say was this:

Single player? You will NEVER need to check in online.

Multiplayer? Must be online.

Done and done. Instead, they ducked and weaved more than Floyd Mayweather on steroids. Why? Cash money baybeee. MS, I'm available as a PR rep if you need someone who isn't a complete corporate drone and at least has some concept of what gamers may actually want.

And another thing: if a company would just come out and say the following: "we require you to be online. Why? Piracy." I'd respect that and I'd buy the console.

I actually claimed this would happen in the XBOX One reveal thread. If you want a strictly gaming console from a company who knows what fun is and how to continually deliver it, you want Nintendo. There is no other choice.

Very very few people don't have 24/7 internet...Especially those that game.

Welcome to the future?

As an admin, everything I own is 24/7/365...I've actually only had 2 outages this entire year...It's industry standard for 24/7 capability now.

I realize some of you have crappy internet but...It is what it is.

Some things need internet, some things don't. Single-player games don't need internet.

They sort of said this. They should just come out and clarify given all the backlash they're facing. They haven't, and I assume it's because they either (1) want the system online in some capacity even during single player, or, (2) they haven't figured out exactly how to say it and try to spin it so it seems like a "feature."

Then don't buy an Xbox One.

The new world features 24/7/365 technology...That's just how it is.

Single player games really aren't the focus of the industry, anymore (in regards to consoles)...

Look at the percentage of single player games compared to multi on consoles over the past @ 10 years -- You'll see a significant decline.

Again, welcome to the new world...It is what it is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_number_of_broadband_Internet_subscriptions

If you want to believe the information, only around 30% of Americans have a fixed boradband subscription. On a global scale, 90-10% of the world have access to a 24/7 broadband connection. It's obvious you live a privileged life, but don't think everyone in the wolrd, or even America has access to the luxuries you have.

Thread Starter
Wii U + PC is the best of both worlds imho.

Pick up a PS4 a little later in it's lifespan when it's on rev 2.0 hardware, all the launch bugs have been ironed out and there is already a good back catalog of games to be had fairly cheaply.

Skip the Xbox One altogether lol.
