Even if it was "some features," playing your game is not what I would classify as a "feature"

True, but more than likely if not stated on the console, it will be stated on game. At least from my experience with games that require internet connection.

Though, in this world today most people just buy stuff without reading the documentation ( any of it )... so it really wouldn't surprise me tongue.gif

The Xbox 360's target audience is made up of individuals that had an internet connection -- That's a fact.

If I'm marketing a product, I market the product TO my target audience.

Essentially, this entire topic is trying to skew that target audience into being the entire demographic when, it's really not.

If you don't have the internet 24/7/365, don't buy the Xbox One because the product wasn't intended for your use.

Generally people are "upset" about this because they don't have internet but, that's not Microsoft's problem because you're not part of their target audience.

Does it suck for some of you? Sure...But, again, you're not the person they're marketing the system towards so, why the rage in the first place?...Oh, wait, it's because you WANT one?

Well, I want a Gallardo but, I'm not rich enough to buy one -- Maybe I should start a thread about it?
They cover the entirety of my property considering I have a business on site but, quite frankly, I felt it was none of your business. Still don't but, placating you is easier then furthering this specific discussion... thumb.gif

A Gallardo would certainly be nice, Is it included with every Xbox One purchase? Even if I didn't have internet I'd buy it then! biggrin.gif

I see what you are saying, your initially posts just seemed fairly angry towards the fact that someone could possibly not have internet. No ill will! thumb.gif

Yea, this is true, Skyrim for example says on the back "REQUIRES INTERNET CONNECTION AND FREE STEAM ACCOUNT TO ACTIVATE" If Microsoft was to do this, well then it isn't their problem if someone doesn't have a connection. You should have read the fine print before purchasing the game.

Just you watch, this is going to be just like the situation sony had with the PS2 years after the PS3 launched. People will still buy the "current" generation of PS3, 360s simply because it is so much cheaper.

I have so many friends who only went to xbox because they can hack it and get free games.

The Wii-U has already shown that the public won't buy just anything. Granted, there was a spike in sales here...but I don't think it will be sustained.

Your posts just make me facepalm so much. Half of OCN are IT nerds...

And its in the Microsoft Kinect EULA that in the current not always on system that they can use any data recorded at anytime for any reason. They force you to agree with it. A google search a day keeps the noobs away.thumb.gif

EULA != Law

I'd like to see them try to use or even enforce such clause.

Im pretty sure I read months ago that they actually did use footage to put someone in jail or something. It was for a good cause if I recall but it has been done.

Big business's run the world.

Wow...Know much about the law? Clearly not.

Regardless of what the EULA states, it does not circumvent your 4th amendment rights, the rights to privacy etc etc etc...Not to mention the EU laws this would break, instantaneously in regards to privacy.

What the Kinect Eula ACTUALLY COVERS, is for example, if I'm playing you in a Kinect on-line game and I see your mom beat you or something else, maybe you stab your sister...They then have the right, due to the subpoena to enter THAT SPECIFIC DATA and use it for that reason...You know, after I call 911 and report it thoroughly.

It does NOT mean that it's on 24/7/365 for their viewing pleasure.

When it's engaged and you're using the Kinect -- Absolutely, they can take whatever they want but, as to you doing something obscene in front of the camera while watching a movie? Negative.

I'm also not calling it the "Evil Xbox Kinect"...So, maybe that should tell you something from the start.

Hm? It clearly says they can use anything they have for any purpose. I agree that MS' intent is not to beat off to you cooking chicken cutlets, my concern is that guy who MS hires who decides to be creepy and watch everyone and anyone.

There is no reason to keep the camera on at all times other than to collect as much data as possible, regardless of the use of that data. That reason alone is why I will not purchase this system.
