true. full time spy device inside your home right in your living room or bedroom. the invasion of privacy that will occur or be exploited if 'necessary' by Microsoft and their Gov friends will be legendary and the average console numpty wont care enough.
Examples of what the tech can achieve:
. MS watch you and your friends watch a movie and auto-bill you for the extra people
. MS checks a file and the watermark is missing proving to them its not a legit Disc / image and you are billed or added to a 3 strikes system before law involvement
. MS Looks at products in the living room and bedroom so they can sell you marketing information but not pay you money for the privilege of their free billions in money making
. MS face scans not only you but also the family pictures in your room, with the ability to 'pan and scan' a bit like a low tech blade runner movie scene picking out information to put on the big friendly social database
. Your on a watch list, you don't know why it might be a false positive picked out from a computer algorithm and the camera is recording you and your activities
Random not ever going to happen one:
. Your a crazy teen and you smoke pot and have sex under age .. call the PO-lice because your parental control is set to high and the kinect detected sexy gyrations (i realize that is sig worthy)
Paranoid or not, true or not. This tech allows all of the above and you have only 'XboxOne' choice .. To trust Microsoft and all their intentions and never worry about anything that may be exploited from this invasion.
It is no longer just a console its a corporate spy tool. Its not about if you care or not its about acknowledging that's how companies work now with phones then accepting this is taking one big step over the line from thatEdited by Pip Boy - 5/24/13 at 2:23pm
