In my experience it does seem to be radiation from the GPU. I've even heard a mirror image of GPU coil whine through sound cards analogue outputs.

If you're comparing noise while idling in Windows (ie. desktop), then Aero was probably loading the GPU more than Windows 8 does, so Windows 8 would make less noise as the GPU is less active? That's my theory anyway.

The Titanium requires a weird system to get full audio (including EAX) from the optical port. It basically still uses the main device and then the digital device is just acting as a 'repeater' to clone this and send it as a digital signal.

Maybe Creative should have put a real EMI shield on it, then this would all be a non issue. I had an Asus STX in this PC before, next to the same GPU. It had proper shielding, and there was absolutely no noise on any analogue output.

Mute or reduce volume on all the inputs if it is an X-Fi Titanium card. That will stop the hiss/interference

i thinks something to do with driver...before moving to win 8, my desktop is a mess biggrin.gif
and first moving, my pcie soundcard not detected right away as usual high def media audio or anything.

That worked.
