After being a happy and content Xbox 360 owner after nearly 7 years, I am so royally disgusted and upset with Microsoft completely ruining the new XBox in so many ways. After parting ways with Sony way back in 2002 after going to Xbox for Halo, looks like i'll be returning to the Sony party as it looks like they have cleaned up their corporate act some what and know what the public and gamers want

Get a clue. In fact almost everyone in this thread needs to get a clue or at least stop being so ignorant.
If they showed off nothing but games you'd all be complaining that they're resting on their laurels. They show off what's new about the console being a gaming machine isn't new. None of you seem to realise that it its still the same gaming platform but with MORE FEATURES. They haven't added these features and gone "hey you know that thing that made us successful, lets get rid of that" they just didn't show it which was dumb on there part but not buying something because of a press conference and your ignorance is even more so.

I guess I'm one of the few who is actually interested in the new Xbox. After being completely turned away from the 360 they've kinda pulled me back in. I got away from the 360 because I got tired of paying for a monthly subscription for something I rarely use. So I went with the ps3 for bluray and free access to their internet gaming. If the Xbox One turns out to be a pretty solid media center solution I may be very interested. Especially if I can get one and it perform on par with a custom HTPC for a similar price point. If that can't happen then I probably wont be interested and will look towards the ps4 or neither. Just really depends on what happens when they are actually released.

I don't have to justify any of my decisions to you son. And the next time you wanna spurt digital verbal vomit retort to make yourself feel better by trying to belittle someone across the interwebz on your own little soapbox, use proper sentence structure and punctuation so you don't come across as a 14 year old twathead

In the PS4 reveal, they showed a whole load of features that had nothing to do with gaming. They also showed gameplay, what the PS4 is capable of (with cinematic) and showed off a load of exclusives which is a good combination of games and features. That is why no one complained about the PS4 reveal.

With the XBOX One reveal they only showed Forza 5 as an exclusive, portrayed pre-rendered cinematics as gameplay (the CoD thing) and the rest of the time they spent talking about TV, HD dogs and EA Sports.

Like a whole load of people said multiple times, either show off most of the games and don't pay a lot of attention to E3 or don't reveal it until E3 and show everything. Instead they chose to reveal it and not show many games while they wait until E3 to show off more things.

People need to realize that its a gaming console and thats obvious so they don't need to go over that stuff. They instead went over everything else, I still don't like it but that was their approach its obviously going to have games and its obviously for gaming they're just saving that for E3. Still sucks though, and same with PS4 you're paying like 500-800$ for a crappy gaming computer. You could build a pretty beast system with 500-800$

I agree that they dropped a bollock with the E3 timing but people are acting like its not a gaming machine because it didn't show anything much. I'm assuming its still the same first party/third party experience with regards to games but maybe I'm being naive.

The Xbox will still have decent games. Thing is I don't want to have to have Kinect on watching me the whole time, seems creepy. The used game thing sucks as well. Microsoft milked everyone with Xbox Gold and the new Xbox One just seems to think of new exciting ways to take money off of people for more service they don't really need and get for free elsewhere.. Those things are enough to put me off buying one regardless of how good the games are..

I'm waiting for E3 - but have NO intention of buying it.
I've had an Xbox since the age of around 10 - so around 11 years now, I've been an Xbox gamer, and around 12-13 years of being an Xbox gamer.

Overall, this is no longer a GAMING machine, but a MEDIA machine.
Sure all the fancy stuff look good, but I honestly, as a REAL gamer, don't give a flying monkey about the new features.
  • I DO NOT want to be online all the time
  • I HATE the idea of this lack of used games market and the locking-in effect MS are trying to push for
  • I HATE the fact the whole presentation was about SPORTS, a stupid impact engine that EA are developing and streaming TV through your Sky box or equivalent
  • I DISLIKE the design they have adopted - seems as if it can't stand up any more - I use my Xbox360S ALWAYS vertically, and never want it to take more space
  • I find the controller a step BACKWARDS, with the new design. Sure it looks a little better and has more functionalities, but the size of the Xbox controller was perfect, it seems they went back to the ORIGINAL Xbox controller (not the HUGE ones)
  • I find the new name RIDICULOUS - I joked, watching the stream live with friends, that the name would be "iBox" or "The Xbox" - an Apple move. What did they do? Xbox One. Genius. Who paid them to come up with a horrid name? I preferred the rumours' names: Xbox 720, Xbox Infinity, etc

Overall, I wasn't really intending to buy next gen consoles, due to my investment in my PC - but now seeing both consoles, being more media orientated, I refuse to buy them. I regret buying Xbox Live membership till 2014.
Will be the last Xbox Live membership I'll be buying, unless Microsoft can really prove their worth, with some CONSOLE specific games.

"Here's the head of 343..." (I get excited of the possibility of a new Halo game)
"....we are going to create a new movie!"

Me: Seriously.....really? Screw you.
