How can 4 + 2GB Ram work in Dual-Channel ?

So i had in my system only 4GB of ram 1 stick and then i put another 2GB to make it 6GB and yeah pc recognized as a "Dual-Channel" 6114mb also cpu-z it says "Dual Symmetric" , so i'm worrying how it can work in dual-channel with indifferent ram sizes, someone it says that it would run in a Dual Assymetric mode but it did in my PC !

It's because each bank has to have the same config to be dual channel. In your case, you likely have each bank setup as 2GB + 1GB so all is good. thumb.gif

Edit: I also seem to recall some Athlon 64 setups needed matched RAM to be dual-channel. But I don't think this was the case with Intel machines.
