New 21-23" LED Monitor - Suggestions

Hey all.

Currently I'm running a 15.6" laptop with a 19" Samsung Syncmaster (4+ years old) and the Samsung is showing some offset image fading that's really starting to bother me.

That said, I'm looking for a new replacement. Preferably 21"-23", and hopefully a monitor I can purchase another of somewhere down the road when I build another desktop for dual monitors.

I've been out of the loop for quite a while when it comes to hardware (I'm a software guy).

Any suggestions/advice?

Cheers.

EDIT: Looks like Dell is having a sale. Can anyone recommend any of these?

I have a Dell U2312HM as my secondary monitor and it's amazing. IPS panel, great colours, great contrast, semi-glossy screen etc.

The Dell S2340L is similar, it's an IPS monitor as well. It has a glossy screen instead of semi-glossy though which bothers some people if they work in a lit environment. It has quite a small bezel which is nice.

Thanks!

Would you say it's worth it to get the U2312HM over the S2340L based on the price difference? I'm a student so price is definitely of concern redface.gif

If price is a concern then I'd go with the S2340L. The glossy screen can be a pain in a well lit situation but it's really not that bad, because it has no anti-glare coating the image quality will be better which kind of compensates.

You could go with the S2440L if you want too, it's exactly the same apart from it's a tad bigger.
