Windows XP does not recognize more than 3GB of memory. If you have not purchased the hard drives or the memory then I would suggest:
2x RAID0 + 2GB RAM
Any of these harddrives
will do beautifully. And this memory
is just wonderful.
Paging memory is part of all computer regardless of your harddrive or memory configuration. Windows, by default, reserves 2x your memory size for paging memory. This is simply reserved HDD space. It is very slow in comparison to memory. If you have 2GB of RAM, you will probably never touch that paging memory.
