* My OCd 8350 handles multiple vms just fine fyi and is stable @5ghz uder 45C for hours on prime ect but its true bottleneck would be for multi gpus.

*IMHO just buy a used I7 920 or fx8320 and a decent hyper212 or a guy on the marketplace has a $50 h60 i think. IMHO all it really comes down to is what are you going to do with it and then go from there on how much you want to spend but regardless haswell seems like a joke 5% average gains and a good deal better intergrated graphics(which youll probably never use if you game at all).

What does vcores have to do with power draw? Also what does your overclock have to do with IPC?

Did you even read my post? It is as legitimate as you can get. You post is irrelevant. As I clearly stated earlier if you want best bang for your buck you go AMD. If you want raw performance you go Intel. You're smoking crack if you think you can trump my 3770k overclock or not. We are not looking for AMD bias here. Move along, now.

My point was that they both get hot IE "nuclear power plant" not IPC or power draw where amd definetly loses. Where did i say it beats your 3770k at anything( i said my 8350 runs VMs acceptably) except price point when i bought my system? My irrelivant point being is not everyone needs to shell out $220 for an 3770k(which isnt a bad price) since unless they are actually USING it its pointless and they really wont see more than a few fps gained/lossed in most games compared to a 120-130 dollar cpu(either intel or amd)

Amd bias.... I would actually have preferrd the I7 920 for joy of overclocking it possbily 2 ghz over stock and I wanted a 3770k/3570k but wasnt going to spend the extra 100+ at the time i bought my rig.(yes its a great price now if you actually need it) My own build came used and well priced hince why i bought it since it wasnt a enormous proformance drop in my games expecially sicne my gpu isnt pushing it.

Point being you misunderstood my first comment and then proceded to go over the edge about your very nice and slightly overpriced 3770k. Also to NOT go amd if the thread starter is thinking about a sli for his 780 since they suck at that.

Edit: O and Haswell isnt worth it unless you want a new toy, fair enough, or are using the igpu for a desktop anyway.

Alright so I'm going i5 3570k, but I'm now looking into all these next gen games and they all seem to be console exclusive... Sadly. So right now debating on whether getting a gaming pc or buying a laptop and pre ordering a ps4.

gaming pc is more powerful than the consoles IMO go with gaming PC, it would be best as well as you can do other tasks also on it with blazing speeds

it'snot about it being more powerful to me. IIts about the games, have you seen the up coming console exclusives? The division is almost enough for me to buy a console alone. It looks like game devs are starting to stop making games on the pc. What if this new consoles kill the pc market?

I dunno about you guys, but my fx-8350 plays all my games 60fps. Even Skyrim with heavy mods and tweaked ini settings is running 60fps vsync @1080p

It makes sense for me to use it as I already had an AM3+ board and did not want to spend the money on a higher priced Intel proc + a new mobo.

For the average gamer or even a "high settings" gamer Real world performance is pretty much the same.
As others have said, if your aiming at 60fps you wont notice a difference at all as both can achieve the same result at 1080p sometimes neck and neck at higher resolutions depending on the game

Yes Intel is faster, there's no doubt. but why spend the extra cash if you don't NEED to.

That said if I had the money, I probably would go intel. tongue.gif
