The GX60 does have user-serviceable parts, the CPU and GPU can be interchanged... So, I'm not entirely sure where you heard that.
If at all possible, I'd wait to see what Richland has to offer. They're supposed to hit the market relatively soon and the GPU boost is supposed to be fairly nice.
