Hi Guys

Comparing the 2 on GPU review the 660TI in SLI seems to be a better performer and also a fraction of the cost. My local computer store has the new 780 for A$829. The 660TI card is $291 each. I am currently running 570s in SLI and wonder if the PCI 3.0 plus the addtional RAM would help games perform better at 1920x1080. Games are - Crysis 3, Battlefield 3, Metro 2033, MW3.

I won't be upgrading my monitor so 1920x1080 is it.

Comparison - http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=685&card2=670#

Thanks Guys.

From what I've been seeing, a single 780 is about on par with SLI 580's FPS wise and about the same as OC 580's in benchmarks.

id probably go with the 780

single card setup smile.gif

or maybe wait for the 770 & 760ti's ?

I would do SLI, I love my 670 FTW SLI setup, no problems with any games, and great performance for the money. A 66TI SLI setup should last you til the 8xx series I think. From what I have read on these forums a 66ti setup can rival a titan.

with your chip oc'ed to 4.4 - 4.5 you only need one 'mid-range' card (now that the 780 is out). i recommend a single 670 4GB. i maxed out BF3 MP with the 7950 at stock but my i7 is oc'ed to 4.5. this is using 1080. Metro with just a little oc on the gpu. C3, no single card can max it. i play it High (all) with 4MSAA.

K, he is just running out of vram. its 1080 gaming. unless he plans to go higher. $400 tops to play those games just fine.

a 670 2GB will suffice even if it is under $350.
