I would also go with the 660Ti SLI. They're not that far behind a Titant(lol garbage card) and the Titan itself is around 10-13% faster than the 780 from reports. If you don't plan on gaming on higher resolution and if you're not a Skyrim fiend, 2GB should be plenty. Why the Titan is out there is beyond me. I know it's a single GPU but if you're gonna price it at 1,000$ it should murder any setup costing 900$ or less, Sli or normal. There shouldn't be any ''it's close'' ''oh but the Titan is single, you can SLI it(for another 1,000$)''. No! This card should obliterate anything thrown at it at this price tag.

Edit: The 780 is also a good choice if you don't mind shelling out 650$. Actually, nevermind, the 660 Sli would be close to 600$ and the 780 is a single card so if you want to upgrade in the future, you can get another 780 once it'll drop to around 300-400$. 780 it is for me.

Granted my CPU is old, but damn SLI to hell! I get crap usage in BF3 and GRID 2. 780 all the way!

Now that the GTX 770 is out, that would be the card for me if using a 1080p monitor.

I'm a happy 660 ti sli fan so I would have to say go for it. P15500 3Dmark11 score is worth saying, the only way I'd say no is if you don't have a good enough PSU, motherboard or if your case has no good cooling. The top card will run hot otherwise

I jumped into the SLI world in April when I picked up two Asus 660's and just sold my second one this morning. Whoever says there are no bugs with SLI is lying. BF3 was hit and miss (and when it missed, it really missed), Borderlands 2 in SLI is a joke, Skyrim definitely had its bugs, really the only games I tried that worked well in SLI were Sleeping Dogs and Dirt 3.

My vote is for the fastest single card you can afford. I know I'm waiting for the 780's to come back in stock so I can keep my frames above 120fps for my monitor. It is so tempting to go the cheaper SLI route, but it's not worth the headaches.

#1 bug is low GPU usage in certain games, and we're not talking about CPU bottleneck causing the GPU's to decrease their usage. I'm talking about going from minimum 100+ fps and >90% gpu usage on one map, to 50-70% usage, frames spiking from 100 down to the 40's, stutter all over the place, on another map (I'm using BF3 as an example) regardless of graphical settings in game.

Thanks for the info ^^ I think you just convinced me that I'm gonna go for GTX 780 instead of my previous 670 / 680 SLI plan.

I used to get drops like those until I turned on adaptive vsync. Never had any issues with BF3 (single player though)

I experienced the same thing w/ 2 vanilla 660's. Just waiting on a few more custom non ref 780's to decide. thumb.gif

Adaptive vsync to 60, right? Some of us would need 144 and that's not happening.

Tried that as well but it really depended on the map (it is known all the Karkland maps and Caspian have a bad SLI bug and see low GPU usage) and this is in multiplayer. I will say when both cards can sustain >90% GPU usage on a 64 person server and keep the frames at 120 or higher, it is glorious on a 120hz lightboosted monitor. That has been my biggest rub the entire time. I know what it is supposed to do and how it looks, and when that doesn't happen...
