Few Questions About My Upcoming Build...

Thread Starter
I ordered all my parts yesterday, and they will arrive sometime next week. I got a few questions regarding my Sig Rig...

-If I go over the 37x Multiplier, does it apply to all cores or just some?
-How often does a 3820 work with a 150+ Boot Strap?
-Does the boot strap also affect RAM?
-Any problems in running over 1.5v RAM (ie small voltage bump)?
-Will 1/4 of a tube of MX-4 be enough for both my CPU and 2x GPU's?
-Will my GPU/CPU block come with some thermal paste?
-How often does a 3820 get to 4.9+ on good vCore?

I dont want you to answer them all if you can, just answer some if you wish smile.gif

I Had My Ram Over 1.5V to Get Small OC but wouldnt bump it too high due to damage 1.55-65 at most should be more then enough

As for the blocks most usually come pre pasted but i cant say for certain these will.

The Multiplier will apply to all cores with my current OC all my 4 cores run as x42 multiplier

There you go tongue.gif

The 3820 is a special CPu, its partially ;locked, but the boot strap saves it. Your answer does not apply to me im sorry, and the SB and SB-E and IB have different IMC's, they dont apply tn each other im sorry smile.gif

-Will 1/4 of a tube of MX-4 be enough for both my CPU and 2x GPU's?

Out most stuff i had read ths shouldn't be a issue at all for cooling your beast

Seems Your GPU Plates come withthermal paste pre packed but i couldnt see it on your CPU thats providing you ordered from specialtech

I dont want you to answer them all if you can, just answer some if you wish smile.gif

1-i dont know, but it should apply to all the cores (logic wise)
2-it might require some luck
also a picture from benchmarkreviews's review:
3- i dont think so, but i've heard something about it also being = to the pcie bus so maybe, but i dont think it does.
4-i dont think so, alatar used 1.65V rams with X79 which specifies 1.5V max, so i dont think it should be a problem, mobo wise, but be sure to keep the voltage close to 1.55V or you might burn the ram itself.
5-Should be enough, i've applied a 10g tube of paste 3 times on cpu and 2 times on the gpu, and then i ran out biggrin.gif
6-I've never heard of those blocks, but you should check their manuf.s site to see what is bundled and not. (which i'll do in 5 mins tops lol)
7-somewhat on a normal base, but i've seen most chips over 4.6+, so you should be able to reach it if you are a tad luckier than others.

also a picture from benchmarkreviews's review:

That screenshot is utterly wrong, everyone says those things OC like beasts, just wanted to confirm.

and thanks Collin.
