Heys guys,,,, yeah... Too much coffee..

So, i was thinking again about my computer i will get since i need a upgrade.. Look at that old beast. 8600gt maan.

So, haswell and that 700 series is coming out..
So i'm thinking, lets go with that..

I'm trying to save a little money, but i really would like to have the top of the line stuff, because i don't know when i will have money again and if i buy like sandy and i don't have money again for 6 years, i will be 8 years behind...

So..

Cpu: 4770k
Gpu: 780 or 770 or 680 sli...
Psu.. some 700 gold one or something.. I need suggestions, that basically what this thread is.. another one of 5star's impulsive part list threads..
mobo: Need to be a good OC and has tons of fan connectors or not, i may just get a fan controller, i want a cool case.
ram: Not sure, the timings and the speeds.. i read the stickies many times, It's like, woooo, I'm slowly getting it..
Cooler: Noctua or evo or some pre filled water cooler.. I would like to be able to play BF4 in the middle of a 90 degree day and have my computer at like 40c.. or around there..
case: I may just pick up one that is on sale when i get the parts and buy it, but give me options..
HDD: I need a hard drive, like 1tb or more.. because i want to make videos and make like 10 bucks a month on youtube for my chipolte fund.. so i may need like HD video that is like 90gb per round... Give me a few HD's
SSD: I'm not really so for ssd, because it would just be OS and like 3 games... eeh and would make it more confusing for me..

Umm.. if i missed anything... my brain is gone even though i drank like 9 cups of coffee, i need to start using a spoon instead of just dumping it in..

Please don't hate, i'm finally almost able to do it.. I can't wait..

Info: I want to play games at max settings with great fps... while recording and maybe streaming a bit.
Plus i will need aftereffects, photoshop, all that jazz, plus i will need to like have movies playing..

oooh and i forgot, i need a monitor.. 60hz or 120hz.. or i still don't understand those.. I wish i had like yoda for computers in my head.. i only have 5star's evil twin.. Star5

give us

1- a budget

2- uses

3- I'm hoping you're paying for After Effects and PS? What versions do you need?

4- In terms of monitor, 120hz will give smoother viewing. If you're doing photoediting you might want IPS.

5- SSDs are easy and very much worth the "effort" (Hint: There's no problems with them, easy to use)

6- Cooler depends on your overclock. An H100 will keep your stuff nice and cool at stock.

7- RAM: Try and get a Samsung 1.35v kit. Otherwise, aim for 1600mhz / 1866mhz and CL8-CL9. You want the mhz higher, and the CL lower

8- PSU: go with seasonic or corsair. a few other reputable brands but it's easiest to stick to the common stuff in the market.

9- 680SLI is awesome. Drivers are fine by now. Can always go GTX780 if you want to do SLI with that in the future.

10- HDD just go with WD Caviar Black, no debate there.

11- lmk any other questions you might have and I'll do my best to answer them

if you want to save some money buy used z77 bundle haswell is probably just ivy with igpu on roids biggrin.gif but we will see in few days anyway, wait till 3rd of june.

about 60hz vs 120hz its personal you have to try it to see if it fits you, but basicly with 120hz you see 120fps on screen with 60hz you see 60fps(even if you have 100fps in game). i am also thinking 120hz vs 1440p/1600p 60hz

about ssd get one its rebirth everything is much faster, for me ssd is ultimate upgrade(if you are still using hdd)

edit:
go 780
as for psu enermax/corsair/seasonic around 750w

I'm still using a IDE drive... its like 140gb..
My budget... I need it to be like 1500 or so.. but it has to be so i can do that newegg pay in 12 month thing.. So i can get it, then make 2 grand in like 7 month..
Uses... read my first post on the bottom..
What versions are there? The latest ones?
I will be mostly doing gaming.. so i want a good gaming monitor.. and i can get a ips later..
idk.. spending 100 bucks on a 60gb drive just to boot up my OS in 30 seconds instead of 1 minute.. It takes me like 2 minutes to boot.. i can wait..
You guys go from like Super fast HDD to like SSD are like woooah, im going to go from my crappy computer to a i7.. and i will be like.. Daaaaaaaaaaammmmnn.. damn.

Yeah i was thinking that ram.. but everyone is buying it up and it went up like 30 bucks...

ok you didnt say what was your budget.
If gaming is primary go with i5

Intel - Core i5-3570K
Noctua nh-d14 or phanteks
Asus - P8Z77-V PRO \ Gigabyte - UD5H \ MSI - Z77 MPOWER (or even cheaper asrock equivalents)
Sniper Series 8GB (2x4 GB) 2133
GTX 780

Corsair - AX750 \ seasonic \ enermax

this is roughly 1500$ maybe lower, ssd will give you over all better user experience.
