Plantronics Vs SteelPad

Thread Starter
Hi...

Guys, I want to buy a headset to a laptop... I will buy the Asus A8Js, and the soundcard is the "Built-in Intel® High Definition Audio compliant audio chip" from the "Mobile Intel® 945 PM Express Chipset"...

But I wanted to have a good sound to play games, because the speakers are crap...

So I will buy a headset, and after some shearches I've found good reviews about the Plantronics DSP-500 USB and the Steel Sound 5H V2 - USB... What do you think about it??

Wich one should I buy?? I wanted a Headset with USB, because, how you know, the soundcard onboard is junk...

I think that the best is the Steel Sound because it has a rectratil microphone, is easy to store and looks that has a better quality, but your're the experts...

Or If you think that I should buy other, tell-me wich one...

Thanks
My Asus A8Js

You want a 5.1 surround headset. That way you get the bull effect. It's also tinkers with the air in your ears making it SOUND like you had bass.... when you really dont. My suggestion..... get something like this....

Steelpad, I hate plantronics I had 3x of their behind the ear headset/headphones and wow, do they blow... EVERY SINGLE ONE of them failed, and my friends bought them thinking that theirs wouldn't and sure enough they did as well, horrible sets. Go for Steelpad, iCEMAT, or Sennheisers.

hey lord snake i just got my steelsound, about 5 days ago. I can say that they are pretty good. But I also received my Sennheiser HD595's. They are a big improvement over the steelsound. If I was doing a comparison of gaming headphones these are excellent. But the HD555's are only $100 if you can stretch the 25dollars it would realy be worth the money. They are a bit more comfy than the steelsound i must say. If you have any furthure questions PM me i would be glad to answer them.

Hey Metalica732, I was thinking about buying some Sennheiser HDxxx's but I didn't want to spend too much needlessly.

For example, the PC 150's vs the PC 160's are absolutely no sound/physical structure difference, it only has usb.

What are the differences between the HD595's and HD555's?

The HD595 cost significantly more than the HD555, but it is superior in nearly every way in terms of sound quality. The HD595 has a bigger sound stage, more detailed mids and highs, tighter bass (HD555 is more powerful, yet less detailed), etc. Physically the HD595 is more comfortable than the HD555 and has a bigger driver as well.
