Already been explained that it's crap
That link say's nothing about the psu having an 8-pin EPS connector, when you get a new psu make sure not to use a 6+2 pcie connector for cpu power

Sorry yes it is a 6 and 2 pin connector, I really can't understand why it isn't working, do you think the 4 pin is the reason for the crashes?
6+2 is for graphics card power that's why it won't work
As a guess, the other issue ( not responding ) could be a lack of ram

Ahh ok, that's reassuring as the ram is limited due to windows 32 bit and I will be upgrading that shortly, I have ordered a 4 pin to 8 pin adaptor as well so it should hopefully sort the issues
post #15 of 19
really? you were trying to use the PCIE connector? LOL that explains a lot. Now you are ordering a 4 to 8 pin adapter? kookoo.gif Buy the proper PSU or you will have nothing but problems! Send that psu back, it is outdated for the system you are trying to run, as evidenced by it's lack of an 8 pin connector! Are you trying to just kill your computer as fast as possible? That's what is going to happen if you continue down this path like you are. axesmiley.png

Its not super high end but its a decent unit without any major flaws
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Over all, the OCZ ZS series 550W power supply is a very good power supply, albeit a basic power supply. The actual score of this unit came out to 8.7, which easily gets rounded up to 9 since the reason it didn't get a higher score is because of the "value" grade. One of two things could have made this power supply a sure fire "jonnyGURU Recommended" power supply without any doubts or any rounding up of scores: If the unit was modular at the $79.99 price point or if the hard price was $10 to $20 cheaper than it is. Like I said, there is a $20 MIR on this unit right now, so if you do end up scoring this power supply for a mere $59.99, you've done fine!

The good:

Good voltage regulation
All Japanese capacitors
Fairly decent over all build quality
At least it's 80 Plus Bronze

The bad:

Nothing really bad to say about this one

The mediocre:

A little on the pricey side without the fat, $20 mail in rebate
Is only 80 Plus Bronze
Isn't modular
Fan is kind of loud
No floppy power connector

Ok thanks a lot guys, I'll be giving ebuyer a ring tomorrow and I'll keep you updated, I shouldn't have skimped on the power supply, my bad :-)
