Razer Naga Hex

Thread Starter
So here's the deal.

I found out about Naga Hex, I knew about it before, but didn't read further into it until now.

So I have a G400. I used that (and before it's precedessor, MX518) for a good while. Further down the road I felt like that I could use a mouse with more features, especially for productivity features where you could simply map all shortcut keys to a mouse. So I picked G600 further down the road from a sale, and while it's an excellent mouse, for gaming (at least for the games I play) it's not 100% ideal. The keys are a bit on the cramped size and they are membrane, which makes very quick actions kind of awkward to do. So I switched back to G400 to play around the games (Dota 2, FPS games like CS:GO...) and left it at that. G600 was reserved for other programs.

While using the G600 I kind of remembered the Naga Hex and thought that there was indeed a sensible design behind that mouse. I still felt that it wouldn't be all that superior, but now when I looked into it, I realized that it's side buttons are mechanical just like in most other mice with fewer keys. While I've never felt being at a huge disadvantage due to playing on G400 instead of any other mouse (my slowish 27" monitor obviously gives more of a disadvantage in many games), I could see very obvious benefits in having more actually usable buttons on the mouse.

Now there might be some issues like Synapse 2.0, but I'd like to hear about other people's sentiments regarding this mouse.

Razer sponsored League of Legends teams seem to be using them to great effect.
As far as a i know their NA/EU DotA 2 teams (Liquid, EG, Alliance) use Death Adders mostly.
I wonder why this is, considering they are both MOBA's. You think Razer would be pushing a little more for all the MOBA sponsored teams to use it.

It looks like a cool little mouse for MOBA's and even those new MMO's like GW2 and Neverwinter that don't use a lot of character abilities.
I like my naga and always said if they made another one with mech keys i would buy it. Was close to getting the hex for a while.

I bought a Hex and returned it the next day, if that says anything.

bought naga hex when it first released, that green/black one. slippery, no grip whatsoever, awful button placement, terrible design in general and I just can't see how anyone can enjoy using it. I found regular Naga to have a far superior grip for lifting the mouse, costumization with different sides and more buttons. If you plan on playing CS:GO at any decent level, don't buy that pos.

Naga Hex has the best side buttons I have ever used, mouse is a bit on the smallish side so you need to use a claw grip rather than palm, if you try it I would suggest getting a matte version, of which there is only the League of Legends Special ed these days. I am a big dota 2 player and the button layout is pretty close to perfect for it, if the matte version was not branded League of Legends I would probably have one by now.

Agreed, my only real faults with the mouse were the Synapse software at the time which was awful (this was right when ver 2.0 launched), and the fact that the majority of the mouse surface was glossy and extremely slippery.

I'd really like a non-game branded version of the mouse in a matte finish as I think it's a very good compromise between the crazy amount of buttons on the standard naga and the 'not enough' buttons of most 5 button mice. Sensor is kind of sub par but this isn't a precision mouse.
