I don't thinkyou can RMA for low ASIC score.

People say that the higher ASIC score is, the higher OC can be. But I know of Titans with lower ASIC than me but OCs better.

RMAs are are faulty hardware not because you got a low ASIC or cannot achieve a good overclock.

i bet that can do 1300/1800 easy. i got 60 and does 1200/1600 easy but its watered. have not pushed it yet.

ASIC is not a true indication of what it can overclock too. I had two 7970's one with 63% and couldn't overclock more than 40Mhz, and a 51% which sits at 1180 all day.

I think you should at least see how high it can go first. I mean come on, ASIC is an indicator more often than not, but not always. Look at all the people here who say they have a low ASIC and overclock well.

ASIC scores are way over rated and should not be used as tool or guide line to go by for ocing.
I have been seeing this way too much, people complaining befor they even try, and giving up before all options are tried.
It is not a magic score.

I take them into consideration before overclocking just to see what to expect. But I have never decided to rma due to an ASIC score and never will. I agree with you on people complaining before they even try, because often times the card ends up overclocking like a champ anyways. I personally think it has more to do with what temps you will get with certain overclocks and voltages.

My ASIC is 83.6% on my card but I haven't tried overclocking it yet. It could do really well, or it could really suck.

The 7950(iceQ Turbo 900mhz stock) i had before was a 55.4% and would not even reach 1000mhz on stock voltages and max powertune limit.

and now i have a 570 with a 96% ASIC biggrin.gif

Got two 580s, one with 91% ASIC which requires less stock voltage than the other but doesn't overclock well. The other has 79% ASIC but reaches higher overclocks.

With two 7970s, one is at 58% ASIC & the other sits pretty @ 72% ASIC. Both can't overclock for crap on stock volts.

Point is, ASIC is Not the determining factor for mainstream overclocking (Air & Water).......and it never will be.
