Will Outlook 2010/2013 Affect Gaming Performance?

Thread Starter
I'm looking at keeping Outlook 2010 minimized whilst I'm playing games to avoid frequent logins to gmail and/or checking my iPhone. Can anyone see why this would cause enough of a system drain to cause any affect in gaming performance? I'm thinking, "no", but why not ask?

It really depends on your hardware, If your computer is struggling a little having outlook open will not help but if you have much more hardware than is needed to play the game it shouldn't be an issue. I doubt that outlook used much processing power.

I guess the best thing to do is to try it out, and see if there is any difference in framerate.
