[TPU] Xbox One Chip Slower Than PlayStation 4 - Page 12

People have LITERALLY zero idea what the games will be like for each console and E3 hasn't even happened yet and people have still made up their minds?!?! That is not being unbiased, let me tell you.

No. I've never heard of an 8 core netbook and all modern tablets use ARM processors not x86/64 as far as I know.

All of them you say?

What is my Transformer using?

Tegra is beast.

EDIT: I take that all back, even tegra is arm based.

Just because the memory is shared doesn't mean it's horribly slow. By cutting on trace costs they can use faster RAM at the same price.

Didn't the PS4 conference actually show running games? (Although they could have ran on a better PC since the box wasn't shown LOL)

X1 conference didn't show anything at those level right?

Really all it does is provide some type of performance increase over time. As they are probably using GPU farms to offload onto as GPU tech increases so does the cloud power.

Also remember in 3-6 years from now the internet will not be the same. Most people in small citys have access to cable internet, docsis 3.0 modem and the 20mbps package will provide 40mbps(4MB/s) for most people. Plenty for something like this, during the first couple years it probably won't be used as much, but can really turn into a decent performance booster over time. Think about realistic skies that look nice and real and are fully are rendered offsite. Also MS can reconfigure it's memory and system resources at will with system updates.

We could really get a back and forth between game quality on consoles like we do now on the 360/ps3.

Funny people try to hate on this, even though it is a smart way to give users extra performance that could expand to do even more in the future. If you have a data cap that is small then it probably isn't the thing to get ATM.

The issue with cloud isn't the bandwidth, it's the latency. Which for the foreseeable future will not improve by any large margin.

The PS3 could too, Wii sales have really slowed down afaik now the Wii U is out and all of the people who want WiiFit already have it.

The PS3 was hard to code for due to it being a very different architecture, but I could see why at least some developers would think it's easy now they've had it for so long and have so much experience with it.

(even MS has to pay for it now)

Some of you 360 fan boys just have to admit, the PS3 won this round. There is NOTHING you can post to prove otherwise. I didn't even mention the RROD, that alone is a kick in the nuts to MS.

I'd say it's a draw, MS made a tonne of money from XBL Gold subs but lost a tonne because of RRoD and Sony got BR in but lost a tonne because of a bad launch.

Next time, look in the thread: That chart (And other charts proving the PS3 did actually outsell the 360 for at least a small while) have been posted in here before.

Also, if you're going to bang on about providing proof for your numbers maybe you should do it too.

Actually, it's just shipped more I believe. It's money in Sony's pocket but there's more than likely more PS3s in warehouses and stores than 360s, although retailers would stock up for a reason so I imagine the PS3 will soon overtake the 360 if it hasn't already.

And it also gives more flexibility to developers, say your textures take up 5GB but the actual logic only 2GB..well, if the console had a straight 4/4 split you'll have a bunch of free RAM and have to reduce texture sizes, with the unified RAM you don't have to. That's one of the reasons the 360 gets slightly better graphics than the PS3.
