They're aren't going to look and play exactly the same, that's such a bold statement. rolleyes.gif Do PS3 and Xbox 360 games play exactly the same, no? They play worse on PS3 even though it's more powerful? Wow, that's interesting! Why do you think it's going to be any different? Game developers are still going to have to port Direct x games to opengl (how hard is this? I'm not sure, I am sure there will be problems when doing this though.)

Yep but like I said, the 360 havning a slower CPU didnt stop it from having in many cases better looking multiplatformers and great looking exclusives.

People pretend that they understand these numbers now before the launch and how they will impact the console in the future, but in a year or two, no one will care... smile.gif

That's only in America ( NDP ). PS3 has either sold more, or is about to sell more worldwide, with 360 having a year head start.

No, as someone who went through that period in gaming ATI was king of DX9.

X1950XTX was faster then any 7000 series card. Really the only time nvidia really had the lead was with the 6800ultra for a short time.

Nvidia took off with the 8800GTX IMO

Really had no interest in AMD till the 4870 after the DX 9 days, and boy did I love that card.

360 has better GPU and memory system (OS uses less ram and unified memory pool is nice, GPU also uses shaders same thing modern GPU's use)
PS3 has better CPU
Overall they even out, you really need to design the game around the PS3 to make it work well. But even then 360 is better at pushing more polygons if needed, Games tend to have better AA on the 360 as well. Also being able to install any game to your HDD on the 360 has its benefits.


We all knew the PS4 was going to be faster, so why is this news?
Really only thing I don't like about the ps4 is the lackluster software experience. Not really fond of clunky features and the controller still is a mystery on how well the analog sicks work as they were crap on the ps3. Probably will get both anyways over the coarse of time.

From what I've heard, XBO has so much bloat (3 OSes, 3 GB of ram for the OSes, multiple cores dedicated to OSes) that even if PS4 and XBO were the same, it wouldn't matter, XBO would be slower.

Though if the 360 was using GCN 1.2 and the PS4 was using GCN 1.0 that GPU difference would be like the 7790 vs 7850. Really the biggest difference will be the memory interface, GDDR5 was the better route IMO. Though I wish MS would have gone with 64MB of ESRAM instead of 32. Even though that would have taken up a lot of space. In the long run it would have been better to have.

I wouldn't expect anything less then 1080p 30fps out of these consoles, just like the 360/ps3 was 720p 30fps.

People on here saying PS3 hard to programming for.... Get a clue?

Multiplats generally played and looked better on 360 but it had more use able memory then PS3.
