HAHAHAHAHA LOL LOL

I googled "PS3 hard to program for"

Look at all the results!!!1

https://www.google.com/search?q=ps3+hard+to+program+for&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=fflb

I bet you feel silly. wink.gif

This has to be the funniest one since it came from Sony
http://news.cnet.com/sony-ps3-is-hard-to-develop-for-on-purpose/

"We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that (developers) want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so then the question is, what do you do for the rest of the nine-and-a-half years?"

--Kaz Hirai, CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment

ENJOY
PS: The fact that you named a reason why the PS3 is hard to develop for, yet you say it isn't. Is even funnier...

ps3 has only been able to match the 360 in sales, with nearly 10m more consoles sold in Asia vs the 360.
MS has a huge lead in NA and about to overtake wii sales here.
People are also more willing to buy DLC content on XBL vs PSN (kinda like app store vs android market place)
Game quality tends to be better on the 360 as well, less frame drops and overall a more present experience

While some might not like it
MS made the most money this generation.

PS3 had great games but that was it, not a console worth playing 3rd party games on. PC/360 was the better device for most games IMO.
While true for someone that might play the PC, but console only users have a much larger user base. Plus the 360 has great exclusives as well, halo reach had some of the best SWAT of any halo game and Halo 4 has a better story then most PS3 exclusives. Racing is also king on the 360, forza is just the better racing games and codemaster games tend to run better on the 360. Gears of War is also a great game.

PS3 has God of War, Uncharted series as the main two big games going for it. Though really they had no 1st party game with must play multiplayer and in the online age that is something they need to fix. Sadly I found the kill zone games to be a pretty generic shooter series, I'm a story fan and the story in those games really didn't do anything for me.

I just can't get into Forza, I still think Gran Turismo is king, it just feels more like a sim than Forza. Forza has some nice things going for it, like popular engine swaps, better body kits, better car sounds, and Road America ( I've raced here so I want it in GT ). As a car fanatic IRL I think Gran Turismo is hands down a better simulator and the better game. Once GT learns from Forza on those things I just mentioned no one will compare them like they do now.

As far as Xbox exclusives, I don't even remotely like the Halo series, I think its one of the most overrated series of all time. Gears is good, I'll give you that. Still, there are a lot more exclusives than the ones u mentioned for PS. Heavy Rain, Infamous, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, Jack and Dexter, Little Big Planet, MAG, MGS4, ect ect. Don't forget it's still getting new exclusives like Last of Us which look to be top notch. If you want the ultimate experience PS3 + PC is it IMO.

But yeah I don't get that 360 success story you talk about. I truly wonder how many of those 360's sold are actually RRoD replacements. Argue it all you want but I'm guessing the sale numbers are extremely miss leading. I guess in a round about way that shows a completely different 360 success story, sell a poor quality system to the same people multiple times, that's some loyalty right there.

Did you even read the article? The GDDR5 memory is shared; that's typically what most high end dedicated GPUs use to begin with; now the CPU benefits from it as well.

Are you joking? The biggest complaint developers had about the PS3 was it's dedicated locked off memory.

RROD consoles replaced under the 3 year warranty are not included in sales.
Jasper and later model 360's are solid as a rock.

While I liked Heavy Rain, Heavenly Sword, All those PS2 remakes, The new sly cooper even though it wasn't that great, and the last of us should be good even though ps3 graphics are pretty bad now. One of my biggest problems with uncharted 3 was the lack of AA and blurry textures same thing will happen to the last of us. MAG was alright even though it had really crappy graphics and the controls sucked and lag.

I never really liked Infamous, resistance, kill zone, LBP, Ratchet and Clank (liked the old ones though.

Really it is still selective. But Again No good multiplayer games and for a non PC gamer the 360 still offered a better experience on nearly all 3rd party titles still.

What is everyone fighting about? I'm just glad that there are two modern consoles which finally have some decent power between them.

I never understood the whole PSN Vs Xbox live thing.

I really don't understand why Xbox live is claimed to be so much better than PSN.

With PSN I hit "Sign In" and I can message my friends, invite them to games and then talk with them in game using a mic.

What more do you need? Also since I just payed £300 for a console and the £30-£50 for the games I really don't want to fork out more money to play online.

Maybe it is just me.

7970M > 7790

It's mostly due to the interface, but there's more sp too. Xbox could clock higher

I think most Americans will get XBone for "dog of duty" rest of the world will get PS4 smile.gif considering that half the features of xbone are useless outside of US not to mention less powererful APU inside slower memory etc. Outside of US only special exclusives might force people to get Xbone but that is probably still going to be less then PS4.

AMD has got an amazing push on the OpenGL/OpenCL front, so it's understandable Sony wanted to take advantage of that.

They use shared RAM because the Jaguar SoCs have an IMC that is capable of working with fully coherent memory. There's no need to have separate buses anymore.

No, the PS4 uses an APU. The GPU is on the same die, with the same cache, and the same IMC as the CPU.

The APU IS the chip. Just like a desktop APU, but with eight Jaguar cores and a GPU with 4 times as much shaders.
