HD 7750 for Dual Graphics with A10 (Which one to get?)

Thread Starter
So I wanna buy a 7750 for Dual Graphics mode with my A10 APU. (By the way I know that since the latest catalyst, even tho its not stated anywhere, you can Dual Graphics a 7750 GPU with the A10)

The problem is I don't really know which one to get, I've a choice of three cards, well technically four, but two of them are of the same brand, only memory type and amounts of RAM differs.

So, the options are;

1)SAPPHIRE AMD/ATI RADEON HD7750 1GB GDDR5 (850 MHz / 4800 MHz)

2)MSI AMD/ATI RADEON HD7750 1GB GDDR5 (830 MHz / 4500 MHz)

3)ASUS AMD/ATI RADEON HD7750 1GB GDDR5 (820 MHz / 4600 MHz)

There's also a 2GB GDDR3 version of the MSI with (800 MHz / 1600 MHz) but I guess the 2GB is totally not worth it with GDDR3 being so slow amirite?

Anyways It would be really great if someone could help me pick a card from the list.

Thanks.

Get the Sapphire, higher clock speeds and they''ve had great success with the 7xxx series. But I advise you do something first...

Overclock the Onboard, try to get a few more MHz out of it, so the card will not have to downclock to it etc

first of all the recommended card for dual graphics with A10 is HD 6670. secondly Trinity A10 uses VLIW4 graphics architecture while HD 7750 uses GCN architecture.

http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/dual-graphics/Pages/dual-graphics.aspx#3

I don't think the HD 7750 will work in CF with AMD A10.

Sapphire eh? That's what I've been thinking of getting.

@rahgu78 - That is correct, the A10 was marketed as to only able to Hybrid CF with the 6670, until CCC 13.x came out, people reported that they have been successful to Dual Graphics a 7750 with the A10 ever since the new drivers, there's even a video of that on youtube.

Even tho they use different architecture a 7750 is basically a re-branded 6670 with higher clocks, so with the new drivers it should work, if not, heck a 7750 would be a better choice for gaming than the A10's on-board anyway. So no loss there.

Thanks for the advice, right now I'm in a struggle of choosing between this or two different (yet the same) Sapphire HD 7770's.

Never DDR3. Sapphire is best bang for the buck out of those AFAIK.

Hey man, I heard about this capability too but I doubt it will work. If it does work, I would like to see it though. You can show it by making a new thread. Looking forward for it.

I agree, I had this on a laptop. I looked at benchmarks for the GPU with GDDR5, turns out mine had GDDR3.. So I got much less performance.

I opt to go with the Sapphire 1GB as it has higher stock clocks and Sapphire are a decent AMD manufacturer. The memory clocks are also a lot higher! thumb.gif
You may want to try and overclock your RAM (like System RAM) or get some faster stuff to improve the performance? I'd also suggest overclocking the iGPU too, before buying the new card. wink.gif

@Moustache - If I end up getting the 7750 I definitely will report back!

@Matt-Matt - I'm in the process of OC'ing my iGPU, not sure about the RAM as its already running at 1866 (which its suppose to run tbh so I guess there's room for oc'ing)
