What are the real world differences between these cards and is one better value than the others?

1) Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 OC HDMI DisplayPort Dual-DVI 2GB

2) Asus GeForce GTX670-DC2-2GD5 2GB

3) EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW HDMI DisplayPort Dual-DVI 2GB

4) Asus GeForce GTX670-DC2OG-2GD5 2GB

5) Asus GeForce GTX670-DC2T-2GD5 2GB

Thank you.

when it comes down to different brands all selling the same cards for different prices it because of the following reasons!
1- there name , yes there name if it is a named brand like asus its more expensive BUT most of the time have better warrentys!
2- if its a ref card are custom cooler , ref cards are always cheaper because its a basic layout, rather then custom coolers cost more
because of the money it takes to make it and make a custom pcb are not !
3- most of the time there is a performance increase for the ones with custom coolers , so NOT A BIG DIFFERENCE! but A difference that people
are willing to pay the extra 10-20$ for!
4- some are unlocked some are not!
5-when choosing thing about the future if you want to water cool are what not!!

GOOD LUCK! AND HAVE FUN!

The main difference between the brands is the cooling solution.
For all of the ASUS cards, the DCU-II is being used. It has a good reputation for keeping a good temperature at a good to decent noise rate.
The Gigabyte uses the updated Windforce cooler now called Triangle Cool. I have no experience with this cooler, best is to find a review on the card.
The EVGA uses the reference desing turbine cooler.

Another difference is the factory overclock the cards come with.
The Gigabyte comes at a factory OC of 980Mhz clock speed, with the boost at 1058MHz.
The ASUS DC2 also comes at the reference 915 / 980 MHz.
The ASUS DC2OG comes at a factory overclock of 980 / 1058 MHz.
The ASUS DC2T comes at a factory overclock of 1058 / 1137 MHz
The EVGA 670-FTW comes at a factory overclock of 1006 / 1084 MHz

If you're giving overclocking a go, I'd choose either the Gigabyte or the ASUS DC2 (non-overclocked) for the cooling solution.
If you are certain that you want to go watercooling, the EVGA might give you the least hassle with finding blocks and removing the cooler.

The EVGA FTW uses a larger 680 PCB and 680 reference cooler. Maybe helps a little with overclocking but it always comes down to the specific chip you get. Overall, I think the ASUS aftermarket cooler would help more (ASUS card also has a custom PCB if I remember right) but some people prefer EVGAs customer service and transferable warranty. If you're going to use two or three cards or don't have great airflow you way also want the blower design from EVGA.

I strongly recommend you hold out 2 more weeks...The GTX 770 will be released and suppose to be listed for $449.99 due to the latest news. That 's only $50 more dollars over the 670's you are considering to buy now but if you prefer not to wait, and your case has good cooling, I recommend you forget about those 670's you had listed & buy the EVGA GTX 670 FTW Sig2 thumb.gif
It's the top dog of 670's biggrin.gif

the gigabyte windforce 670 uses a modified gtx 680 pcb. the Asus DCU 670's use custom pcb's as well, iirc.

Yeah, 770 and 760 should be out soon, right?

The only thing that actually makes it modified is the 6+8 pin power connector but it's 1 helluva of 670 thumb.gif

Thank you for that folks.
Agoriaz,for the good tech specs.
And no,I'm not even considering liquid cooling.

drBlahMan for the alternative, yes,I will wait and see what the pricing is here.
Unfortunately the EVGA GTX 670 FTW Sig2 seems not to be available in New Zealand.
And freight from the U.S. makes any import out of the question.

I guess I'll wait a little longer and see what eventuates.

I do not know alot about some of the GTX 670 but I have had really good luck with my Gigabyte Windforce 2 dual fan GTX 670 SLI setup. For me it was about price and at the time they were the cheapest at $379 and overall it has been great.
