That's a crock of lies.
Alienware doesn't come with bloat ware at all. It comes with their command center software which controls the lights fans and power settings, and it comes with steam and Skype if you click the check box for it.
Other then that they just have drivers installed.
That's it.

Alienware doesn't offer mobile cards in a desktop, its not possible. Desktop motherboards, alienware included, do not feature MXM slots.

Whatever kid, I don't take kindly to being called a liar when I only told you what I know. you lost one persons interest in this debate now if you drive everyone else away you can then declare yourself the winner.

1. I'm not a kid, im 23 year old adult.
2. You just spewed crap that has no proof, and dropped an instance that had zero plausibility. Don't want to be called out for being a liar? Don't lie.
3. You didn't tell me what you knew, you told me something you assumed for the sole purpose of your own confirmation bias. Either your check your facts, or you're going to be wrong.

Whether or not Alienware is overpriced, building your own desktop allows for infinitely more options. You only sacrifice Next Business Day support. Building a desktop is also riskier, but warranties on parts should alleviate that risk.

Whether or not Alienware's laptops are good is a more interesting argument.

Alienware = Beautiful design? Don't get me started ... So you like out of space designs? Like the phantom
Ask most around here, they look terrible and are ugly as hell.
Origin and XoticPC don't get bashed because 1) They can fully customize your computer 2)Choose your case designs
Can alienware do so? Alienwares are incredibly UGLY.

But that's not the main point. I know the bashing exists even if you paste a "Alienware" label over a Fractal Design R4 cases but those are complete nutcases
Laptops are a different story. Clevos are better in this regard. Much more customization than Dell

And also, where i am i can instantly replace faulty parts by my distributor

I've owned 2 so far, and I absolutely am sold on their laptops. They are some really nice machines. They are actually the only laptops on the market at this point that natively support up to 2133mhz SODIMM laptop memory. Its in their bios options. Not even the clevo's and MSI's do that. M17X and M18X current gen offer HDMI In, which is really nice if you own a console, because you can hook up your PS3/360/WiiU/PS4/Xbox one to your laptop and use it as a high def TV.

I had to move to laptops after my aurora due to stability reasons, and my laptops are rock solid.
Only downfall is that mechanical hard drives aren't durable. :/

Not that you even need 2133MHz on a laptop. What the hell is there a point for?

Alienware laptops have good warranties and many nice features that the competitors are too backwards to adopt, but Dell cuts corners on the screens, keyboards, technical support, and customization options while keeping the LEDs and high sticker prices. They are certainly not bad--I would argue that they are the best "gaming laptops"--but I can see why those who cannot haggle the prices down would prefer Clevos.

I dunno. It helps with graphics performance. transfer rates.
I mean the M17X has 2 video card options that are more powerful than the previous Fermi generation GTX 570 Desktop card(HD7970M, GTX 680M). The m18x has dual video card options as well.

I had a friend with an HD7970M go from 1333mhz to 1600mhz ram and it raised his 3dmark11 Pscore 200 points.
My M17X has 12GB of 1866mhz RAM.
but its not a question of "need" its a matter of capabilities. Who needs a hexcore 12 thread CPU with Quad Titan SLI? No one, but they do it anyways.
"Because I can" is a fairly good excuse.
When EVGA was still selling their SR-2 motherboard I was planning on going dual Xeons with tri SLI GTX 570s. I didn't actually need that much power but "why not?"

Most of the current gen laptops can support up to 32GB of 1600mhz RAM, why would anyone need 32gigs of RAm? they don't its just bragging rights and "because I can"

My M17X is a direct replacement to my x58 gtx 570 desktop, so I got everything in it to be more powerful than the desktop I used to have, except the cpu. which is the i7 3630, I need the battery life(M17X owners usually report around 6~7hours on intergrated graphics with the lower i7 CPUs)

1600 is good enough. More is pointless.
Also on the topic of dell quality being hopeless my dad used to use Dell laptops pre-Y2K when he was working for Dell ... What sort of proc was available then i don't know but the keyboards had keys that frequently "jumped" out at you! And there was no way of putting it back
now being at Citi, they bought some Dell laptops and he had been hearing horror stories from his colleagues like being hot etc etc and poor build quality and that keyboard issue is still prevalent, only worse
Mind you, these weren't some cheap dell laptop THEY ARE XPS 17s!
