Intel doesn't like to toss inventory in the trash. Just can not see why they'd choose that over their own ARM offerings otherwise. It's not as if there is an x86 advantage in Android.

The mention of Temash is kind of OT since I'm not aware of a SKU that really fits in the same power envelope. Clovertrail+ may be a tortoise of an offering but it is quite power miserly.

A4-1200 Temash is 3.9w TDP so it can be in fanless design tablet.

Temash/Kabini(Jaguar) have far superior single threaded performance.

Samsung likes slim designs so A4-1200 is a bit of a stretch. Still will make for a powerful ~10 inch x86 tablet: see Quanta reference design http://www.slashgear.com/amd-temash-official-ipad-smoothness-and-x86-grunt-for-tablets-and-hybrids-22283195/

My opinion:
Wow... Clover Trail+ Atom? Can't wait to see artifacts, blue screen of death plus tons of customers wanting refunds.rolleyes.gif

Note: I know Galaxy Tab does not use Windows while that does not mean there won't be crashes and artifacts on screen.

You do realize BSODs are Windows only right ? Your Note suggests you do. Then you must be talking about the x86(-64) architecture. With which these errors have nothing to do. If x86 did throw around errors like nobody's business, we wouldn't be using it as much as we do. Go scaremonger on a different issue but not a rock solid 30 year old arch.

EDIT: The only thing I can think off that might compromise a tablet with an Intel Atom is power consumption. Next gen atom will probably fix this so lets hope the next tab will use the new Atom smile.gif

Anyway BSOD can mean Windows blue screen or death or in Android/Linux the black screen of death. tongue.gif

Yes... Still, why did you mentioned even thought it was already answered/discussed?

We will see involving Atom, if Galaxy Tab 3 has a Atom with TDP of 3.9+ watts then why the heck Samsung would not use "Temash" that has far better single threaded performance and GPU. You can't game on Atom at all, at least with Temash you could play ancient WOW.

Yes but Clovertrail+ is roughly 2-3W TDP. The downside is it is slow some of the similar TDP ARM SoCs are faster.

I like how Jaguar based AMD SKUs are looking but have to be realistic. A4-1200 tablets are going to be a bit on the thick side, nothing outrageous and worth it for the performance but still a reality.

But they still need a decent GPU performance to run visuals well, Intel's GPU would likely to cause artifacts.

wow cant believe how much intel bashing. anyone mentions amd is bad, whoa flamed like hell. all the while no one knows specs of next atom??? for all people know new atom could be completely new arc?? or alot more optimised. seriously you think intel with all thoer R&D budget couldnt make a good SoC. tbh i dont think theyve put much effort into that.. yet.
