I have been on a long-term search for some of the best lenses for my Nikon APS-C sensor DSLR. There are so many to choose from. A cheap lens can ruin an image; not to say that all expensive lenses are perfect. I would like mention too that the photographer plays the biggest part in how an image turns out. I am shooting portraits, events, and landscapes. I also use my DSLR for video capture. The obvious choice for most is to choose top-tier Nikkor lenses. If only it were so simple. Plastic is a wonderful material for so many things. Lenses are not one of them at least in my opinion. I was quite impressed when I discovered Zeiss. Their products are of excellent quality. I am considering a lens from them for video capture after a recommendation from Phillip Bloom. Are there any lenses that you would recommend? Or professional reviews? My budget is $1500. Choose one of the following: portraits, events, or landscapes. Thanks!
