Voltage Question

Thread Starter
OK, I have managed to get my QX6700 to 3.33ghz with out messing with the settings too much and the temp has only gone up by 2-3deg. But I cant seem to get past that in a bootable condition. But I would really like to try to get a 1ghz OC, and am only 333mhz away!

Can I get some help for what to do next? I think I need to raise the voltage a little and try it, but I have never done it before and could use a pointer. E.g, By how much do I raise it each time? Where do I stop raising it if it wont boot?

Also, default on this CPU is 266 x 10, anyone got any suggestions for where it should be fine. Seem to find the FSB dont like it above 300, which to me is quite low? Or is this the voltage again or a wall or something? Basically, could use a point in the right direction!

i am not familiert with that cpu but a couple fo pointers, first what type opf cooling do you have, if your on stock then you gotta be real careful with voltage,

try raising the voltage by like .01 or what ever the smallest incrememnts on that board are, raise it one time and see how it does and check your temps under full load then go up a notch, then raise your fsb and see if it helped raiseit a little do this and you should reach your goal i wouldthink

with voltage temperature is your big enemy so keep an eye oon that and see what happens ok

I have Thermaltake Watercooling on the CPU and several stock fans on the Armor Case. I know that the water cooling aint the best, think it will be ok?

Or am I just hitting a wall or something and voltage is not what i should be looking at?

Firstly can you tell us what temps your CPU is at at a 100% Load.

ok, currently it is 45c when online ect, going up to 66c when it has been under full load for a few mins. This is with TAT and keep in mind that these quads are hot little chips anyway, it was idle @ about 42c with stock settings. Also, I have applied AS5 again as per their site, but temp is the same as before.
