the benefits don't actually exist.

cloud gaming is different and won't work on most internet connections. but it's not about what the hardware or software ultimately even in this case. it's that publishers can't take the internet streaming speed as a constant in their game design, so they will be forced to assume the lowest common denominator

the negative cons based on speculation of course. We still don't actually know the ins and out of this. Wasn't until yesterday that we actually learned that each console will have 3 virtual console counterparts for cloud computing. However that turns out, we'll have to wait and see. It might actually be awesome!

All you guys have is the Sim City example....but that's EA. But anything else? I'm so disappointed how you guys can't get past the current speculation and open up your minds for what the possibilities could be.

And to answer Revro, no i'm not an MS rep -__- More of an optimistic gamer who wants something NEW. PS4's unveiling sucked balls. Wow...killzone 4 with better graphics. Who didn't see that coming? So with that as my context, you can see why I was actually happy to see something else at MS's conference. Now I'm HOPING E3 doesn't disappoint, but until then, it's wait and see....

Also don't forget that floating point performance doesn't equal gaming performance. The ps4 and xbox one will be close in gaming performance. Like a 7850 and 7790 would. PS4 simply has the better Memory system, while that might mean more AA don't expect anything radical like 30fps vs 60fps(though with MS's ESRAM adding AA won't take as big of a hit). If anything if this cloud boost ends up working good MS could have a edge on the PS4 in terms of ageing well.

Why am I always seeing the Xbox One GPU referred to as a 7790? The GPU in the Xbox has 12CU/768 shaders and the 7790 has 14CU/896 shaders... and considering it's clocked 200mhz lower, it will end up being slower than a stock HD 7770. Pretty sure the PS4 GPU is more than 50% stronger.

.....Or am I missing something here.

Xbox Live is only available to those with broadband and has been that way since 2002. That's back when we were still rocking Pentium 4's in our computer. Don't you think a push for broadband back then was a BIG RISK. It's 11 years later now and you guys are still getting you panties in a bunch about it.

If anything, the full use of this cloud computing will probably only be seen in exclusives, and even then it'll be labeled on the box with "best experienced with Xbox Live/Cloud" Just like how they do with the 360 and hard drives

In 2002 most of these guys were playing with their......well nevermind.

I'm just saying they have no overall sense of perspective.

Have you used either GPU? The HD7790 is definitely noticeably slower than a HD7850, let alone the apparently HD7870 fast (FYI, HD7870s come close to HD7950s) PS4 GPU. ESRAM won't make up for the 50% deficient in shader power and much lower vRAM bandwidth when you have AA on, the HD7790 performance tanks due to its low memory bandwidth and especially at higher resolutions...And remember, the HD7790 still has 30GB/s more bandwidth than the XBOne GPU, that thing will be very memory constrained for stuff that doesn't fit in that ESRAM.

Fact is, because of its vRAM bandwidth and the extra shaders the PS4 GPU will fare better at 1080p and beyond, the ESRAM would be more than balanced by the fact that the GDDR5 in the PS4 also gives a higher bandwidth (176 GB/s for PS4 vs 106GB/s for the ESRAM, admittedly at a much lower latency) which is important for larger amounts of AA and the like. Remember also when comparing the HD7790 to the HD7850, that the HD7790 has GCN 2.0 while the HD7850 has GCN 1.0, both the PS4 and XBOne are GCN2.0 so that advantage is lost. (Hence why the PS4 is said to be HD7870 level)

I'm wondering how this 3 OS hypervisor works for the devs. Could it be that they won't be able to get closer to the GPU?
