This is a great way to get rid of those "losses" they say they make on the hardware I mean seriously the ram costs near nothing the 32MB of SDR ram costs like 50 dollars then 60 dollar for the apu an avarage 100 dollar for design cost (mostly on the dev side of things) if you see what the make it out to be a nice shell and a floppy cooling solution that would come down to 250 dollar at max.
Slap on a 100 dollar margin makes it 350 dollar next charge every costumer to play online to make that a total of 150 dollar profit.

Saying that they sell the consoles at a loss, refusing people to sell game licenses they own(for which the EU is gonna sue them if they keep it in Europe) and charging for online services as simple as co-up play of which most is based on either a host-client console system or based of a simplistic game server mostly provided by the game developer.

MS is such a greedy company really.

Your avatar and title....I can't even begin to comprehend how you can say that, while having that.

You mean Apple?
I own a lot of Apple stuff but those things didn't cost me that much money at all.
The most expensive Apple products I have had(which were new) were my Iphone 3GS and my Iphone 4S.

Yes they overprice their products but they offer a design and experience that others don't have (I know you can run Mac OS X on anything so let's not go there)
If it makes you feel any better I cut up a G5 chassis yesterday.

You're talking just about the AI? Note that I had said "non-local AI". This would be in games where there are world events occurring that are not affected by the player in realtime.
Once again...

Not that I think it's use is intended for AI, I beg to ask the question, why not?

When we play 4 player co-op online in halo's Horde mode or Gears of War's horde mode....where is the AI being processed? AFAIK, the hosts xbox receives all the information from the other 3 consoles, runs the AI, and sends the information back to everybody else's consoles. That's a LOT of syncing up going on, all on a old tri-core while running the rest of the game.

What would be the difference if instead of everybody's AI ran off the host's console (who could be 1,000 miles away from everybody else), why not instead just dedicate on of the virtual consoles to handle all the AI? As far as everybody else is concerned, nothing else has changed, the AI is still being processed by somebody else's machine, granted, the virtual machine could be 100% dedicated to AI.

Cloud = form of DRM / control over the consumer no matter what company you go with. I wont support it and I can live without the games to avoid it.

I'm optimistically sure it won't work as good if done locally on the machine.

When you play Boarderlands 2 over Xbox-live co-op....where does the AI processing take place? One both consoles? What syncs it? It's all done over the internet without any complaint...

Games will still be designed around the resources available on the console...but for those that want to create even more ambitious games, they can utilize those 3 virtual consoles. That's GREAT for us gamers.

I'm not really concerned of this false equivalence over next gen vs last gen techniques based on last gen performance limitations. What I was getting as it that if xbox one had enough power it would be irrelevant to point out cloud computing for anything in particular. I would dare say, marketed to inform people that its an option not a necessity.

Edit:
To make it clear. I get the impression that we will see a arch. re-design of the xbox one in the not to distant future after it's been released.

With a x86 based apu that is very possible -universal code.
