......This card is competing with the 7970 Ghz Edition, which uses the XT2 chip, rather than the 7970 (vanilla version) which uses the XT chip. The XT2 is binned to run at higher frequencies while also running at lower voltages. Source

This is showing an average of at least 9% performance improvement over its same priced competitor, the 7970 Ghz Edition

Also, the average price of the 7970Ghz is around $450. And if the rumors of the $400-450 price range for the GTX 770 are true, this is going to be a better performing card for the money than the HD 7970 Ghz edition.

TL;DR: 7970Ghz Edition = XT2 chip, 7970 = XT chip. Different chips. GTX 770 competes with the Ghz Edition, not the vanilla edition.

Wrong. Ghz edition use the same chip as the vanilla 7970

Nope. The ghz edition 7970 comes with a 1.256 voltage stock. Higher than normal 7970.

Marketed as fastest memory in the world, still has less bandwidth than 7970 Ghz edition, GTX 780, and Titan. Bravo, marketing guys.

I would not be surprised if GTX 770 had better numbers than just an OCed GTX 680, GK104 with 256 bit bus is a massive bottleneck and judging by the work Tom's has done with testing for memory limitations Nvidia's memory controller is a lot further from theoretical bandwidth than AMD. Increasing memory speed on GK104 is one of the best things you can do for those chips, it just sucks Nvidia limited it to 256-bit and decided to max out memory clocks, basically means there is no "overclock to make up for lack of bus" or anything.

If Nvidia wasn't so aggressive with binning they could have just designed GK104 with 320-bit bus, disabled 64 bits for early GK104, and then opened it up as a refresh and it would have been a truly great GPU. Don't know what Nvidia was smoking when they decided to release GTX 680 on a new node while expecting perfect yields. If GK104 had more bandwidth it would do very well against Tahiti.

want to see more reviews / leaks of the GTX 770.
when is the release date.?

I might just grab a GTX 680 DC2 on sale and be done for now.

Wrong and Wrong. Guess you didn't bother reading the source linked in my comment from TPU.

I'll link it again: http://www.techpowerup.com/167711/amd-radeon-hd-7970-ghz-edition-tahiti-xt2-detailed.html. Bolded to boot!

Apply a little bit of logic to what the article says and you'll come out to the reason the 7970 Ghz edition is the faster card over the HD 7970.

I wonder when the 760Ti is scheduled for release?

I don't think there would be GTX 760Ti... that's is GTX 680 in place...
