Hi everyone ! My name Is Michael Kaiser - onevoicewild In the USA and my partner on this build is Sam - Do Until Loopy from the UK. He did the design based on my original theme and he is doing all the renderings on a Laptop we named Toasty because it has to run at max temperatures for hours on end to put out these incredible renderings.

I am only able to do this build thanks to some very lucky circumstances ! some very good company's and some amazing friends.
I am just a normal working guy and this build would be beyond my means without the support of Companies like Corsair, EKWB, MNPCTECH and Mayhems. You see these same companies stepping up again and again to help our community ! You know what to do !

Our build is based on Corsairs Incredible new 900D case. This case is setup right out of the box to install maximum water cooling systems and for that matter enough air cooling options to keep about anything under control.

I wanted to build a large new case and I was searching for what was available. I wanted to use Large fans on a wider case than most of the cases that are around. I ran into Sam on the forums and he was offering to do free rendering, so he could get practice with Solidworks. Looking back, I'm not to sure he needed any practice? He seemed to have it down from the start! But lucky me he agreed to do a rendering of my basic Ideas. We decided to go with the Corsair 900D which was still several months out from being release. I have to laugh now, I thought that he would render a box with some grills on it so I could see how it looked. I had no idea how advanced his skills were. He was rendering the whole darn case inside and out, which was a pretty good feat considering he had no real measurements Until we actually got the case in May when they were released from the stores. The fact that Sam was able to do accurate renderings of a case that wasn't out in the wild yet Is a big part of how I'm able to be here today. Because people could see where we were going with this build, long before we even had a case to work with, helped us get interest and ultimately sponsorship for our build.

This was my original inspiration for the Metallica theme. I just liked the way it looked and most of the modders have all the game themes covered so I decided to base my theme on Metallica.

Since I was waiting for the case to be released, I started working on some of the visual pieces for the case. I made most of the pieces by hand with basic tools. Not because it is some sort of higher art form, that is bull ! I would use a CNC if I had one and I could afford it. Out of necessity I use what I have to work with to keep costs down. After seeing what some great modders were doing with hand tools I made the pieces I would need to Make the saw emblem.

I was very happy that I was able to file out what we came to be called the Spiky thing ha ha. It is amazing what can be done with needle files and a lot of patience. But that was done In fairly thin Aluminum, The Metallica emblem will be done in thick Copper. There will be a ton of copper in this build and fortunately for me I just happen to have a 27 pound 26" X 27" sheet of Copper that I did a metal Etching on previously. And because a sheet this size would cost $$$$ I think it will have to be sacrificed to the Mod gods. considerable sanding and polishing were necessary to get out old scratches, I will finish final polishing when the pieces are cut.

These things start out pretty ruff, But if you give them enough love, blood, sweat and tears they come around eventually. This took me about a week of 2 to 3 hours a night to finish, But when you don't have a case yet you have just a little time on your hands.

In the end I am super happy with the way that this came out.

Nice.
Can’t complain about Metallica (well their older stuff anyway). Was listening to them before some people here were born I think.
