The next thing I wanted to do was mount the front 360 Grill. I am still looking for an acceptable diamond plate for the case. Most of the normal plate that you see around just looks cheesy to me. I thought that I had found it and I questioned the company about their product and they said it was all the same / the kind I didn't want. I told them they needed to look at the pictures on their own site and they told me it was just the way the light was hitting it? I may be dense but I'm not blind.

This Is the pic similar to what we want in the black, the red is what they say is the same product.

I guess my eyes are starting to go ! he he he
The problem these days is when you search some thing like this, there is a thousand photo stock pictures but they are just art work and you can't actually buy that pattern. so the search goes on. If any one finds something give me the link. It might seem picky but the kind with the little circle in the center of the diamond just doesn't look good to me.

Because there are no spare parts available for these cases yet, I made sure I had precise measurements for the fan cut outs.

Keep In mind that I am just test fitting here and there is a lot to do to get the case to look the way we want it. But I wanted to get some pictures to celebrate getting this Incredible case and show some of the progress I was making.

I think it's already looking pretty cool and I'm just getting started.

Here are some Looks we are playing around with. I really like the one for the off side of the case and I might consider finding someone that could Air Brush It.

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), default quality

I am currently working on the Copper window frame. Just smoothing out the edges because this is up front and center and any imperfections will show up. I am using a cheapskate trick to square up the long straight edges. I bought a big belt for a belt sander and glued it to a board and it is working very well to get perfectly straight edges. I glued a different grit to the other side. This isn't without a lot of effort! but as long as it works( and it does ) this is the main thing.

I assume you are using some kind of clear coating on that polished metal? Otherwise it will oxidize and dull fairly quickly.

Oh, and Diamond plate is pretty standard.

There are a couple small variations depending on manufacturer, however I have never seen anything that doesn't look like the red photo.

Yes I'll Have to clear coat it. I haven't yet and the Metallica emblem I made first is already changing color. I looks good now but it won't if it keeps going. I figured I would polish it one more time before I do the final assemble on it. Your right about the plate, What I'm really wanting may only exist in pictures? I'll try a little longer before I go to plan B. Oh and the huge mother board question? We had no good measurements on the case and it wasn't done for anything more than to depict the general look. I should have known there are some real eagle eyes out there! would you believe it's a new form factor call Giganticus Maximus with 4 Xenon processors? It's made for dummys like me that don't realize that computers are already faster than I am. DX

Thanks to everyone for following our Build.

Yeah, as you said there are lots of photos of diamond plate on the net that don't exist. Created by various texture artists to use as stock images or whatever.

I have purchased a few tons of the stuff over my 4 year run at my previous job, from a couple different manufacturers, and from what I can see, typically it is the spacing and "depth" of the diamonds that varies. Not really the shape.

Thanks for the advice! who would have thought I'd run into a plate expert here! That's kind of why I threw it out there to see is someone knew some thing I don't. I have an Idea that I think can make some black aluminum plate look really good. But as with all Ideas, you actually have to try it before you know. Some times there is a big gap between what I think I can do and reality. Ha ha Thanks bro

If you are really set on it, I wouldn't give up looking. I can't say I know it all. There might be exactly what you need somewhere else.
