I don't really need a heavy gpu, but I am currently using a radeon hd 7750.

Haha i just realized I probably don't even need a really heavy duty cpu. Probably any of the phenoms or athlon ii x2, x3 ,x4, or x6 will do. your thoughts?

I like bundled offers better. I am going to look for some. Thanks, but I don't think athlon ii x4 640 is worth the $$. Maybe a phenom?

Also, I would like to maximize coupons and great deals like combos. I can wait a few months for discount prices.

A Phenom II 965 is $10 more, so that's $155 total.

Also, why do you like bundled offers? sure they save you some dough but half the time you don't get what you want.

An athlon x3 will be more than fast enough to feed that 7750. It could probably handle up to an HD7850.
check your bios if you have an unlock option so you could just get an athlon x3 or phenom x2 and unlock them to quad

Get a Socket FM2 board and the Athlon x4 750k. Same performance, lower power consumption, more future-ready platform.

Getting a Biostar a960d+ fx-6300 and 8gb corsair ballistix low profile for a total of $180. Is it worth it?
That doesn't look good to me for $180
